Here are two commissions I did for mutt

First is Tripwire. I've been wanting to remake Long Arm for a while, and Tripwire made a better character for the EOD suit.

Next is the infamous Mystery Figure on yojoe.

Let me know what you think.

8-O Flawless Victory. Matt those are freakishly good.

Tripwire looks great. I can't beleive I've never seen someone use that recipe before. I love the addition of Firefly's tools to his back pack.

Mystery guy. I thought you had done this before but couldn't find it. I thought you did a HAL cannon for him too or am I way off?

EDIT: Found it. Obviously based on thsi guy but not exactly. That was a great ifgure. http://www.loserville.us/~matthew/hailstorm.htm

Both figures are uber sweet, I especially like the Tripwire and will borrow the idea ( I always hated the orange )

You continuously amaze me.

Tripwire is PERFECT and should be in the next Con set period.

The mystery figure is a great recreation.

I love them both.

Nice! You continue to floor me with your (better than) factory paint apps. The Mystery Figure especially rocks. :D

That Tripwire is awesome. The only thing I don't like about it is that I've been planning on doing something similar for years, and never got around to it! I love what you did with it: it's a great-looking custom, and a much more appropriate uniform for the character (at least in the present day). Beautiful work!

I might have removed the grenades from Tripwires chest. I don't think you want explosives on your body when disarming a bomb ;-) :rotfl:.

Anyway, great looking paint on both and love the TW backpack. Thanks for sharing.

Ditto, the paint app has attracted my attention on them and I thought the same thing - it sounds quite risky to carry those around while defusing explosive material.

Other than that... very impressive job on both of them, I really like the paint job.

Thanks guys. I'm planning a few more of these; S6 Short-fuze, original color Tripwire, and maybe even a Funskool Tripwire. I'll look into removing the grenades for those.

Oh yeah, and while I'm at it, I have been a fan of your customs for a while and has always wondered if they were play-ready (as in "will the paint around the joints scrape and flake when moving the arms and legs?") or are they just for display?

In other words, are you God or only a Superhero of ARAH customizing? ;-)

good question. It really depends on the figure and on the paint. I do my best to make them poseable, but that isn't always possible. Tripwire is playable. I used an oregano spray paint for the green so it holds up very well. Mystery Figure is sorta playable. The Flash figure I used was tight jointed. I used gray spray paint for the gray, and a white base coat for the light gray, then brush painted the final finish. The light gray could possible scrape, but hopefully the white underneath will not.

But, to reiterate, it's really a case by case. I use spray paint every possible chance that I get, but there are always the times where I have to use brush paint for base coats.

Thanks for sharing this! I've also found spray paint holds much better in most cases, which I guess is simply due to the thinner and more even application of the paint than with a brush. However even with pure spray jobs, I've had very mixed results as sometimes the joints are so tight the paint will scrape no matter what. So I'm also wondering if the brand/type of spray has something to do with it as well. Only a little trial and error will tell.

Thanks again for explaining how you achieved those amazing results! High quality stuff!

Well, he's not THE God, but he is A god.
