Post subject:  Couple of new ones...

I just realized the other day that I never really finished my new-sculpt Tripwire, so after reading the old Marvel back-issues, I decided it was time to give Trippy some 25A love.

At first I was going to just sell my extra 25A Flash (had no use for it), but then I figured out this no-brainer based on Trippy's 2001 paint scheme:

Image

I always thought the Mine-Detector thing was lame, and in his first appearance, TW actually blows some "LASER BLAST" up, so I decided to make him more of a demo guy than an EOD guy (although he's still a klutz.) That's a MJ P-90 he's holding - wanted to give him some firepower. The weird-looking Flash head looks like someone named Tormod Skoog for some reason. I need to change his hair color though - maybe dark brown or black.

Then I started realizing that despite my constant praise of the comics, some of the early books were actually quite goofy -- Torpedo wearing full wetsuit & flippers while fighting Cobra at the Treasury building, etc. -- Gotta love the mandatory toy placement artwork & whatnot. But there were a couple of issues that showed SnowJob without his snow gear on. So I slapped this LBC together using the Obi-Wan head from my 25A SnowJob custom and the Comic Pack Breaker body.

Image

And finally, I was so disappointed in CP Hawk - the head was just too small. I had the same problem using the ARAH Comic Pack Hawk's head on customs in the past - it too was a pea-head. The SE-based body is the smallest out of all the 25A figs, so most of my customs are bashed together using different parts to give them some height. Still, the simple head swap between ARAH CP Hawk & 25A CP Hawk was a must, just because Hawk was like the 2nd figure I ever owned, so I needed to pay homage to that.

Image

And here he is next to my much larger (about 6'2" in true 1:18 scale) Clooney-Hawk. I'm still waiting for the perfect head for him (the other ARAH CP head is a little too weird looking for me.)

I'm working on a few more - but work has been a real [LASER BLAST] lately, so I haven't had a lot of time to work on customs. But I figured I'd at least share these real quick while I had the time.

Cheers!

Looks good all of them, but the Trip Wire stands out. Amazing 25th customs as usual from you, Chief :)

Thanks guys!

I forgot to mention - if anyone is looking to make a similar Tripwire, the helmet is a VvV RazorClaw helmet. I wanted something that had clear goggles, so it'd look like the filecard, but the closest I got was a SW X-wing helmet and it just looked too much like an X-wing helmet so I passed.

If someone can come up with a better-looking helmet with clear goggles, let me know so I can update mine.

Heres my new sculpt Trippy, you could remove the goggles onm this helmet and replce them with blister bubble plastic maybe.

Really nice, Chief.

I like Tripwire especially, but I'm enjoying the notion of a Snow Job for all seasons more and more. I've got to find me one of them Obi Wan heads.

lol - looks like great minds think alike when it comes to TripWire recipes - I used the WideScope torso for mine as well (actually used the whole figure, pretty much):

-- You can see that I never bothered finishing his paint job. But he was able to donate his helmet to current Trippy. And the more I think about it, I think I'll keep it - it really reminds me a lot of the original Trippy helmet.

And I know what you mean, Spin - the more I think about SJ's bio (being an Olympic Biathlete & all), the more I want to use the character for more than just Arctic adventures - I mean, he was the original Joe Sniper if you think about it (unless you ret-con Shooter into the mix :P )

Thanks!

I like the simple and easy ones. The Trip Wire is fantastic, Hsabro couldn't do better.

NICE! I was looking at Flash the other day and was wondering if we'd see a new Tripwire based on that mold. Now I now it'd look AWESOME! They could even use the Razorclaw helmet.

Snowjob looks pretty swanky for an LBC. I'd love to see some non-enviromentally themed versions of other Joes too.

And though I don't have a problem with comic pack Hawk's head, the older head looks pretty good to.

Altogether great Chief. Good to see some new stuff.

I like Tripwire. Very clean look without the big noggin the original had. I'd buy that if they released it.

I like the Snow Job in the O13 green, but I think I like it a lot better as Breaker. Teh comicpack Breaker looks more like Thunder then it does Breaker. The head swap will cure that. Thanks.
