Hello everyone,

Here's my new creation, name is Mogabe.

The bio could use some rewriting, but otherwise I'm very satisfied with it.
I hope you like it!

Very Nice!

I think the Bio is great.

The second paragraph is very wordy and can be cut down by using the standard "primary" and "secondary" proficiencies up near the top.

Then use the first sentence of that second paragraph.

"Warlord" kinda already tells you he has some type of command, so that will get the info in you need in there.

First paragraph is hella creative and has plenty of realism. I wouldn't change anything there.

the custom is great and looks very professional IMO.

Even though I like how it matches the color of the Watch on the Roadblock arms...I'd change the color of the glasses on Doc's head.

or silver...in my mind a more silver would give it that jungle mob-boss feel like "Patriot Games" or such...

Too Bad rose colored/faded drug lord type shade would be almost impossible

I like the figure, and the bio puts him over the top. He reminds me a bit of one of the characters from Blackhawk Down.

Thanks everyone! I'm really glad you like it as well!

TunnelRat and JFAK075, thanks for your appreciation of the bio and the tips! Coming from France, I have zero knowledge or feel whatsoever for the English military jargon. So it can be a little challenging to write anything that makes sense - even though in this case I pretty much stood clear of the military world. I'll try to rewrite the bio a bit and shorten the second paragraph.

Regarding the glasses... I thought about it in the first place. I wondered if I should paint them black or silver actually. I felt black would lessen the colour contrast between the glasses and the guy's hair, and eventually make the glasses less visible. Silver would be a better choice I think... but I got caught in laziness. :shifty: Same for the boots - I didn't feel like painting over the initial green, so I just left it as is. I was quite pleased with the result, so why bother? ;-)

I'm really happy you mentioned that movie - that's exactly the feel I was going for with this guy! Kinda hard to picture in a short bio, but that's exactly how I envisioned him!

The parts I used:
Head: Doc v1
Torso: Gung Ho v1
Arms: Roadblock v2
Waist: Flint v1
Legs: Flint v1

Concerning the paint job, I only painted over the torso, waist and legs. The good thing about keeping arms unpainted is that it makes this figure play-ready! No paint chipping nor flaking on the shoulders and elbows!

To prevent paint from scraping at the knees and waist, I applied a thin coat of nail polish over the paint. Let it dry a few days to be safe and voilĂ ! It pretty much does the trick, although you will want to keep the layers of paint as thin as possible otherwise it will scratch no matter what. I'm still trying to find a good solution to it though...

Nice work, remster_9.

Simple yet effective. I dig the bio as well. Very original...

The bio is really good. Good parts choices. I like the addition of the t-shirt design as well. I've had this feeling liek I'd seen this before and then it hit me. I don't know if you've checked out the Group Projects but a similar custom popped for one of the earlier projects. http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... &c=madarab

Argh! No way!

I hadn't seen that custom before, but the torso/head combo is identical indeed. I like his take on the glasses as well. Gray works just fine. I think the Flint legs I used really convey the warlord feel though, but I must admit I'm slightly disappointed to see someone had already made a very similar custom

The t-shirt design was very simple: I simply applied a decal I had saved since my Warhammer/Space Marines days. I still have a bunch of them, so I'll see how I can keep integrating them to my Joeverse.
