Ok so this is my second "little" project.... and I knew it was going to be tough but its getting harder by the moment. so here is my update, slowly pieces are coming together, and I only have a base coat of pain on things...details to come... so for this (because it was 3 bucks on clearance) i just used a storage bin. I liked the way the floor would look... Here is the beginnings of the brain-wave scanner I used this starwars guy as a mummified corpse type for the DNA extraction (he also comes with a little bar table that I plan to use as a console for a Cobra communications room) I glued this little latter on here to look more like the comic version of the Simulacrum containment unit. I am going to try and mold a very plain-jane non descriptive figure to place in this tank...along with some green dye I also found a couple of boxes to used for crates of the dead, and I will use a maruaders gerny for storm shadows body... |

OH...its a "bionicles box"...that I filled will green tubes (DNA containment) Note to self: may have to rethink the container idea...super glue does not seem to want to hold very well to it... |

For larger pieces superglue won't work as well no matter what type of plastic it is. I'd recommend epoxy or hot glue. Both are a bit tougher to work with, but will be more secure, and if used carefully, probably look better. That said, it's a great start. If you can track down some of the Palisades Army of Darkness figures, I think you'll find all the mummies and skeletons you'd want for this project. |

Guys thanks for the info on glue types! I went and bought super glue gel, and it was easier to work with, but same results...very weak and breaks off easily. I will track down some of this other stuff. Have you guys seen the commercial where the "OXYclean beard guy" is selling their version of green stuff epoxy. 6 tubes for 19.99 or something...I almost bought some. I figure I will practice a bit more before buying some stuff. |

Quote: Palisades Army of Darkness figures just picked up a set of 12 for 20 bucks on ebay... your right they look perfect. One of them even looks better for my Simulacrum than the clay sculpted one I did... I am in the middle of making the display case for the Serpentor's helmet now. (top of the helmet is a piece of CCs staff and and the bottom jaw is sculpted and I will repaint green to fit the comic... |

ok picture update time here is a upper (blurry...sorry) view of the whole shabang. Destro by the DNA samples (pumped up about a plan coming together), Officer unloading crates of specimens/mummys Mindbender and a close look at my Brain-wave scanner Very early stages of the Simulacrum creation all purpose table but at this time Stormshadow has found himself here after Baroness has plugged him full of holes. a non-flash picture to show off the working light. Case with Serpentor's helmet...waiting for him. Green like the comic version. (again I used a CC staff and molded the bottom piece with clay) Again after a great idea of using The Army of Darkness figures (Thanks Hypno, I already bought them...coming soon from ebay) The dead and Simulacrum will get replaced shortly. Also I have a horrible urge to put a bookcase or two in here...I feel like thats whats missing... |
