Here are the Devil's Due versions of the Red Shadows. I'm followed Kwinn_Lives approach of renaming them as "Red Shadows Elite" so that they can be grafted onto the existing canon, instead of being exclusively Devil's Due continuity.

The darker shade of red was an accident, as I started out with the same tomato red acrylic I had used for the base/wash of the 2020 RS trooper customs. However, in the year+ since I'd used the tomato red, it had dried out. Dried out to the point that the paint had actually crystalized and couldn't be brought back to life.

The darker shade really irritates me, probably more than it should, especially in group shots.

On the plus side, I got to use up a lot of junk parts on these two.

What parts did you use? I recognize the Dusty arms, the one Destro head, and possibly Grand Moff Tarkin torsos, but can't recognize the rest.

Instead of just listing the parts, here's what happens when I'm bored...

the darker red looks good to me. they seem a bit glossy with your others though. they are elite so would probably stay in their best uniforms.

Thanks!

Good eye on the gloss. I've started using gloss acrylics (usually mixing them into or with existing acrylics) to avoid having to mess around with sealers or clear coats at the final stage. Putting on clear coats is something that's hit or miss for me. Sometimes an area will look satin-finish, but another part on the same figure will look super-gloss.

This is a controlled cheat.

The darker red has grown on me, too.

I agree on clear coat. It can go good or bad for me without reason. It is so humid here my older customs that aren't sealed seem to get light mold where I painted them. A bit of water on a qtip takes it off. Sealed ones never get it though.
