So, a while ago I was watching Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, and thought the Croc Bandits would make good henchmen for Croc Master. Then, the idea of using them as his employees for Guard Gator Inc. came into the picture as well. The final result was a small group of former alligator home security salespeople and installers who took up banditry after Guard Gator Inc. folded.

I kept their names the same as in the Cartoon as an homage to the inspirational source material.

Wall-Eye: acquisition and delivery, pictured with Gumbo.
Fung: marketing and sales (later, Croc Bandits leader), pictured with Ms. Elizabeth.
Gahri: sales and acquisition, pictured with Chompy.

This is a fun set. I read your post before seeing the pic and was expecting upright walking croc/human hybrids. The squad of croc handlers is much better.

The only thing that would make them stand out a little more is painting the crocs. Like the modern era you could do red, green, then albino for the pink one, maybe the last one some kind of pattern.

I,ve lost count of how many reptiles my crocmaster has :)

Thanks for the feedback, 2DARK2C. I’ve seen your “ultimate” version of Croc Master, and he’s very impressive. I especially like what you did with the boots.

To be fair, one of ‘em is a hybrid of sorts. :-) However, I did give him a backstory that fits the late ‘80’s era of surgically altered vipers and others. Also, originally, I was envisioning anthropomorphic crocs, but ultimately decided on the Guard Gator angle.

I never thought about painting the gators, but I like that idea. Especially making one an albino gator. I’ll keep that on the back-burner. I’ve been picking up some random crocs and gators from craft stores for future projects. Croc Master is my favorite Cobra character, so there’s definitely more figures in the works.

Nice set.

Any plans of painting them?

I never thought Croc Master needed a squad but now I know I'm wrong. This is a great concept and lots of fun. It's something they could have built a Sunbow episode around. And please tell me Fung acts and talks like Macho Man Randy Savage.

Thanks for the kind words.

I think I’ll try painting one of the gators. See how it goes. I tried painting Skymate’s boomerang, but it didn’t take. The gators have texture though, so maybe that’ll help.

…and I’m sorry to say Fung doesn’t talk like Macho Man. I could see him being a fan though. Both in my imagination and the cartoon. :-P

A light spray of primer, flat color, or clear will help paint stick. Some plastic gets tacky from spray though so maybe spray a test spot on the bottom of one.
