Working on my first ever vehicle custom. I ordered a couple of trashed VAMPs on Ebay for $3.50 each and bashed them together to make a four-seater version.

Kind of figuring it out as I go (and wishing I had bought more styrene when I was at the model shop), but overall feeling pretty good about where it's going.

Question for those with experience in this sort of thing: at some point I'll need a filler to hide some seams and smooth out some rough edges. Is there a particular product or products you'd recommend I use? Any techniques/tricks of the trade you might suggest?

Looking good. I haven't used styrene but I,ve filled in gaps with milliput and aves. I almost fully sculpted the rear of my mad max interceptor with milliput. On top of a diecast base car. It's a brick.

Looks good so far.

Going to try to color match?

Thanks! I've used a couple different 2-part epoxies over the years, to various degrees of success, but Milliput. I see there are various types. Is there one you prefer for this sort of work?

I've thought about it, but I don't know that I want to put myself through the frustration of finding the right shade. I'm currently leaning toward a desert sand-tone.

I have used standard yellow/gray and black. I thought black would be easier to use like on hair or other finer work. It was about the same, and if/when you grind or sand on it the black is just on the surface.

Currently I have just a dab of aves that is almost too old, and some of the 2 part from the auto dept to try. I think I'll buy standard milliput again and see if it is as good as I remember. It has been several yrs now that I've been using fixit and standard aves.
