Surd was a character in the 90's Jonny Quest cartoon and toy line. Here I'm going for something to reflect the "real-world" Surd. The "Quest World" Surd action figure made by Galoob was more of a Tron/Matrix version of the character.

Thanks!

It's a Playmobil wheelchair. It's not quite scaled for 1:18, so there are a few cheats. The legs are undersized (and a fodder box gift from 2DARK2C!) which helps. The headrest and push handles are kibbles from Star Wars items. A ROC MARS trooper backpack is added to the underside to look like a battery storage area. Finally, a pouch from a ROC Ice-Viper is added to the back (which I forgot to paint, btw).

Thanks!

If you didn't see it, the legs are ones you gave me in a fodder box. Another save by 2DARK2C...

i sure missed it! great use of those "hunter" legs! the chair mods are perfect, but now i'm struck most by the beard/hair sculpting!

That paint job alone really glammed up that wheel chair, I'm familiar with the playmobile one but I totally didn't recognize it.

Here I was thinking the wheelchair was entirely custom! That is an insane chair! Love the design and sculpting as well.

Thanks. It was necessary to hide the Big Brawler head as much as possible.

Thanks.

Playmobil accessories: too big for MASK and too small for GI Joe. Adding the scale-adjusting stuff altered its appearance up just the right amount. Glad the paint job works. Wasn't sure if it would come off as lazy, which it totally was.

Thanks.

There's more work I could have done, like adding "padding" to the chair to contour/fill the gap between the figure's back and the seat (which I made sure to photograph at an angle to hide, of course).

There's a not-quite 1:18 wheelchair in the Avatar line (the James Cameron one), but those figures are very small, so I went with the Playmobil one, which looked like an easier path to bulk up.
