It's 2 pieces of purple satin, shiny and dull on either side. Under her left side the shiny side up and dull under her right. Both pieces are cut about 3"long x 2"wide. Each was folded in half lengthwise and the end trimmed a 1/4 circle that unfolds to a hemisphere. Each piece was soaked throughout with FrayCheck to prevent paint/glue soaking and such, and to give it some stiffness to work easier. Each side was glued first straight across her bust first, then trimmed under her armpit, then glued straight across her back. A dab of glue was put at her navel and lower back to secure the dress in place so it 'works' from her waistline instead of floating about her from her bustline. A matching seam of the same purple her sleeves and hat are painted ties it all together, imho.
