| Post subject: | Towable Water Raft/Pontoon |
So, I got an RC boat that has a gator head that fits on it to scare the kids this summer. Finally got the pool opened up this year and within minutes was testing the boat in the pool. Within a half hour I was trying to tow a Joe on water skis...it did not work. I carved some foam into a ridable raft...closer but needed some fine tuning. I made the raft more of a pontoon and finally had to add some ballast to the back to keep it from submarining on tight turns and whenever the boat stopped. Still needs a name. Best I could come up with os Wave Smacker. Sghetti string Insulation foam Styrene grab handles $.50 Hot glue The failed Water Ski drowning Attachment: The failed raft 1.0 drowning Attachment: Finally with the ballast Attachment: Attachment: And the finished almost dried version with stickers applied. cool carving. when i was a kid i made a pontoon style boat in science camp out of 6 pepsi cans and a piece of wood. it held all the weight the teacher brought to test them and you could sit on it without it sinking. just duck taped them open end to open end. i also had a shallow tray on the board for some reason, and it kept the weights from rolling off unlike the other flat boats. it would make a quick and easy joe size party barge. i remember that summer the "limited edition" pepsi cans spelled "sex" if you stacked 3 together and spun them around enough. |
