Sometimes when I have a bit of a creative block I like to take what parts I have in front of me and just start building. The idea behind this is it’s a boat and or a Submarine, it’s loosely designed after those personal mini subs and the fancy lifeboats. It’s a Snowcat cab with some pontoons and a bunch of other parts. The figure is one I made years ago and is LBC. Image

Super cool! it is just screaming GI Joe all over :) . It is not easy to get such a clean finish, and a look that just screams Hasbro's GI Joe. The pilot is cool too :) .

Have you tried putting it in water yet?

This looks like an awesome vehicle and your painting and use of parts is simply terrific.

However, and I don't want to be a wet blanket, but pontoons on a submarine? That would just make it nearly impossible to submerge.

Call it a boat or hovercraft and you're home free. :)

Those are pictures of floating in the sink. I didn’t make it water tight so it sinks after a bit.

Lol you can’t think of it in reality think of it as a toy. Those aren’t Pontoons they are tanks that can be filled with water or air to make it float or sink. That’s what those two smaller tanks on top are, compressors to pump water in and out.
Just remember the Joes had a plane that was also a submarine so reality out the window, lol if they even had windows.

Couldn't they double as the ballasts? Take on water, it submerges. Expel water, it surfaces. Totally empty, they act as pontoons, and it skims the surface?

That was basically my idea, that’s why I added those tanks above them to make it look functional. lol use your imagination anything is possible.
