Post subject:  Rebooted Joe-verse Preview WIPs
So it's been a few thousand years since I posted any customs. But thanks to Marauder, Inc, I've been working on a buttload of Joes lately. I've got at least 30 Joes, a dozen Adventure Team members, and various Cobras/etc that I'll be posting over the next few weeks. Thing is, as I started building them out, I ended up rewriting my whole Joe Universe. Along the way I ended up doing a couple of gender-swaps, a few changes in ethnicity, several bio changes, etc, to better reflect an actual modern/near-future military force.

It'll be a couple of weeks before I put the main thread down - because I still have a few figs to finish and a lot of tweaks & touch-ups to make, but I wanted to show off a handful of the WIPs that I'm most proud of so far:

L-R: Beach Head, Torpedo, Recondo, Ace.

Still need a TON of work to clean up the paint lines and whatnot, but you can at least get a feel for the direction I'm going with these.

Wow! The realistic take is greatly appreciated! I really like what you've done here! I especially like your take on Recondo and Ace! I also like that you're trying to keep some iconic parts of each character such as Torpedo's shirt greatly resembling his OG wetsuit! Next couple weeks, you say? Something to look forward to.

Ok - I'm getting a little impatient to show stuff off (mixing a little Adventure Team in with the Joes) :-P

Again - these are all still WIPs, so once they're tweaked and I get the writeups ready I'll be posting a thread with individual customs broken down.

laura croft is hot! flint and orange shirt flint are great figures. no mask snake eyes and lady jay are also really nice.

I like that MCU Cap head for Snake-eyes. Nice choice. Also I don't envy you painting that orange shirt on Action Man.

Thanks guys!

Just got back from a mini-vacation, so I'm going to start wrapping up all of my WIPs so I can start posting everything. But while I was out in Mesa Verde this week, I stumbled across the new Retro Roadblock. About two days after I pretty much finished my custom version:

Mine uses an old modded comic-pack head, and I prefer it since it has more of a comic feel to me. Just gotta figure out what to do with the factory RB. Maybe I'll repaint his tank top and just put him as a new character on my Adventure Team.

That comic RB head is great, but Im shocked at how much I like the new head too. Your rb is that all The Rock besides the head?

Yeah - the "Ultimate" Rockblock (with the Rock's tattoo, etc) with a pouch glued on in place of the holster - I used it because I was going to keep the muted color palette and make it more V2-looking with the t-shirt, but then decided to go full-on V1 colors instead.

Wish I would've used one of my regular Green/Black Rockblock fodder figs now - since I still have quite a few left. Could've swapped the head and used this one for an LBC Dr Smolder Bravesone :-/
