This is one of those projects I've had sitting around for years. It started out as a deep sea diving suit and evolved into a space suit of some sort (inspired by the MAK 3000). I had a custom pilot created when I first had this painted in a battlefield scheme, but then I decided to repurpose it for my old Metalman figures.

I'm not sure I want to call it some kind of weapon platform, maybe it's a rocket refueler?

Yep, white Krylon primer. It's had several coats. :)

Chap Mei.

It's odd to see it in all white. Did you sculpt the "head" portion?

Indeed I did! I got the basic shape by pressing an Easter egg over some air drying clay that was itself stuck onto the original "dome" of the suit. I sanded the clay smoothed and then coated it several times with Bondo spot putty....then lots and LOTS of sanding. You can still see places where I either didn't get a hole filled or a spot sanded perfectly, and I went over that thing NUMEROUS times. I had hoped the white primer would fill in any remaining gaps, and it did, but there's still plenty that were missed. It was driving me nuts and really dragging the whole project down. I eventually said "F-it" and just decided to be done with it.
