(I usually don't beg for people to look at my threads, but this custom was a ton of work...more than any other custom I've made)

No backstory this time, since this is just a redo of an existing character in my custom-verse.

The first custom I made for my Reign of the Serpent project was, of course, Serpentor. It just made sense, seeing as how he is the focal point of the project. And I liked the Serpentor I had made. For where my skills were at that time, it was a good custom. You can see the picture in the first post here.

However, as the project progressed, I realized that I was evolving beyond the level where I was when I started, and also that, due to now using 25th style and SHS figures in my customs, Serpy was looking a bit puny. I made my black-costume 'regal' Serpentor, but I wanted a battle-armored one to use as the primary version of the figure.

So, here he is. Probably the most difficult custom I've made. I used the SHS Thor as a base to make sure he towered over his troops. I wanted his armor to be super pimped-out, thus the snake design (which was a [LASER BLAST] to sculpt) and the horn-crown on the helmet. Finally, I wanted to give him a bit of an older look, as my custom-verse takes place about the time period of the DD run.

Battle Armored Serpentor:
Head: SW Baron Fel
Body: SHS Thor (HEAVILY modified)
Cape: SW General Grievous
Helmet: 25th Serpentor (modified)
Sword: Magna-Warriors sword modified with milliput, face from POTC figure belt and wings from Thor.

And just for fun, here's a shot of (almost) all of the Serpentor customs I've made. They go earliest to newest, left to right (....the first one is actually the second Serpentor custom I made...the first one was torn apart long ago)

Darko has a Serpentor fetish....... :shifty:

Seriously though the face on the chest armor is pretty cool, and looks like it took alot of modding to get done. It's a really nice over all custom.

That is serious Serpentor. The only critique I have is that I'd like to see a black wash on the gold (just a personal thing, but I think it would look good). This custom is WELL worth copying. You certainly outdid yourself here.
Kudos, my friend!

Looks great. Colossus as a base could have been nice as well, but I agree, he needs a big base, and Thor works well. I love the head. Great look to it.

Good job on the new Serpentor. I like the sword and the armor but my fave is the 3rd one in the pic

I like everything about this custom except for the spikes on the helmet. If you wanted a more battle looking helmet I would have modified it with more of a Roman or Spartan face guard. The spikes look a little corny compared to the rest of this kick ass figure.

This version is very monstrous and I think your best version. I like the original head style for his helmet, but this one looks more like a Devils Due update and it's pretty good

Also, that face for is a nice alternative to the 25 guy

Very good job. That Baron Fel head makes a good Serpy head. I might have to copy that.

Looking at your avatar then the figure makes me want to ask: were you going for a Galasso look-alike effect on the head?

I was thinking the same thing - now you've got to make a "Conni" version of the Baroness :P

Looks really good!

First off, thanks for all of the feedback! The Galasso look-a-like wasn't intentional, but half of the reason that I found that shortpacked so funny was that I thought the Galasso dressed as Serpentor was perfect. So I'll go with it.

I actually tried a face guard, but every time I did, the darn thing cracked (the Fel head is a bit larger than the 25th Serpy head, so it has to stretch a bit to go on). I also tried a Romanesque 'fin' (like the helmets of the blue royal guards from Episode III), but that looked super-ridiculous.

Wow that's super sweet Darko!

I agree with Pluz though I'd lose the spikes if it were me.

Very cool!!

I dunno...I kinda dig the spikes. They seem to flow nicely with the armor design for me.
