I feel like I've been out of the custom loop for a while since I haven't posted anything up, but I have been working on a commission that I finally finished today! :)

This is my version 2 of Scarlett. The commissioner wanted her more ARAH like the original figure than my first is, and gave me the added challenge of having the ponytail hang down. After trying MANY things with the hair, I think I've got it down. ;) Used the same basic formula as V1 except before he sent the figure to me the commissioner replaced TR's lower legs with LR's cuz he liked the boots better. I do too! Also makes her look taller and leaner.

Happy as I was with V1, I like this one better. ;) My kiddo keeps asking when I'm going to fix our Scarlett! lol.

That does look really good. Excellent work. The translation of ARAH into S6 here is flawless. I would love to see more like these.

I'm still amazed at how well you made the male parts work here. (hehe, thats what she said) Sorry for getting sidetracked, I figured I better beat the others to the punchline. But anyways, I was blown away by your first version and this one is better. If these were on the shelf I would buy more than just BATS from the S6 line. Awesome work.

I'd hit--I mean, that looks great. Have you customized non-Sigma6 figures, or are you just some kind of weird Sigma6 savant?

LOL...that really made me chuckle for some reason... Um...no and yes? lol...I haven't really gotten into customizing other figures, though I don't think it'd be too much different. I've painted little tiny lead miniatures...and actually, I've got a couple of sports figures I'm s'posed to customize for a friend at some point...that'll be new territory for me. It'd be cool to try a 3.75 figure, but it'd already have to be put together cuz I don't have time right now to figure out how that works. ;)

Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!

I thought your first one couldn't get better, and now you show us this. Truly great work -- I can't wait to get started on mine (family project with me & the wee one.)

FYI -- I've found that a couple of the new "Kung-Fu Grip" figs (mainly Gung-Ho) have dainty little girly hands ;) - I'm going to do a swap on my TR and see how it looks.

Great stuff!

Yeah that does look good. I bought 5 Tunnel Rat figures with that clearance sale on the HTS site. That's one of my ideas is to do a Sigma Scarlett. I'm going all Sigma cartoon though. The others will be other females fromt he cartoon. My thoughts are to remake the hands and feet. I'll probably fire up the heat gun and mold some plastic. These are a little ways away before I do them.

But yeah, again this is a nice Scarlett. Very well done.

Production quality but better than anything Hasbro has dreamt up for that line.

Seriously inspired translation.

I didn't think this really needed it's own topic, so I'm just adding it here.

I've been plugging away at version 3 of Scarlett, which was commissioned for a little boy, and I just finished her this past week. :D It was really cool to do one for a kid (other than my own, of course), so I kind of combined V1 and V2, so she's got the ARAH look with some Sigma accents. I didn't think V2 would be very visually interesting to a child.

There's something I would change about all 3 of my girls, but this one I'm having a harder time pinning it down. For one, somehow she came out a bit more, um, busty than I wanted. Personally I think it makes her look top heavy. Also, the face seems different than the others...I know a LOT of that's due to the color of the plastic it was molded in. This was the V2 of TR (so I had to lose the black face paint, too). I think I'd like her face better if it were more the complexion of the other ones. She looks more Mediterranean than Irish! :) But, at any rate, the commissioning mommy is happy, so I am, too!

Here she is:

And just for kicks, here's a group shot (V1, 2, and 3 in order):
Image

And a comparison of all the heads (in order again):
Image

If I had to pick a favorite, I think it would still be V1. I just like her smaller stature, and I really like the Sigma cues I picked up, especially the dark sides, strangely enough. I also like her face best, tho I like how V2's hair frames her face. V1 just has more personality to me. Well, anyway, I'm curious how you all compare them! I’m planning a V4 (yeah, I’m as bad as Hasbro...and Scarlett’s not even one of my favorite characters!) and so your critiques here will really be helpful. I just don’t think I’ve completely nailed her yet.
