Wow, it turned out great! A bit more detail on the rocks, and you have a very versatile diorama.

Yep, turned out great. I love dioramas that use the fake water effect, so realistic. ;-)

Looks pretty cool...Always a fun process.

I think 1st you need to work on your "rock" a bit more...the edges are just too square for anything that's supposed to be naturaly shaped....hack, cut, undercut some of those places to distinguish different rocks , creat more shaddow and places for texture to hide.

look at some of the longer swamp grass/reed products for near the river...where the joes are standing looks pretty manacured for a culvert/stream bed.

might just be the flash...but the turf choice is pretty bright and uniform...maybe mix it up iwth a bit darker or more coarse set of greens.

I think the squarish rocks work because...its cobra island....temples and such and stuff cut into the rocks. blah blah blah lol

great job!

i do agree with everything Nova said, some longer grass ect would do the river bed more justice, look to woodland scenics they have packets of long grass about 2inches high, at any hobby store, they also have broken wood branches ect, the trains section of hobby stores if full of great things to enhance you diorama. keep up the great work and I look forward to seein what you do next! :-D

Looks really good. I think it captures exactly the right feeling of "Recon in danger"

Very good job overall. I like the stream/bridge composition. I am also a fan of using water products, and I keep EZ-Water ready for all my dio needs.

One question though. Have you thought about stone in another color other than grey? The reason I ask is that in your original set up, before the covering in the (joint compound?), you had an excellent foundation for ruins. In the pic where it was just the blue foam foundation, if you do this style again (it is a great configuration!) underpaint(cover) the blue foam with Dark Umber or Burnt Umber paint. Then if you can get some of those foam brushes, and apply a nice tan, taking care not to fill in the cracks, because you'll want to have the dark umber or brown showing as shadows/creases. Then when the tan is dry, lightly drybrush with a light grey, and when that is done, draw in some cracks with a brown or black permanent marker, and you'll have one fabulous set of ruins. You can also add the plants and leaves too, since many ruins have undergrowth. Maybe use some reindeermoss/lichen.

I love the configuration, and I hope you do another one. This would even work for an ice cave too, if you cover the blue foam, minus the cracks and joinings with white and drybrush it with white with a touch of blue.
