I was itching to do this one, ever since I started doing 25th customs. I even started minimal work while I was waiting for my RAH Wild Weasel to show up from Rasputin :)

Here's a little parts list and WIP guide for bashing the RAH figure with 25th figure parts:

I cut the RAH torso just below the pockets, and "dremeled" out the inside to fit the original Cobra Commander upper torso parts. This allowed the figure to maintain the same amount of torso movement.

Image

I had to deepen the arm sockets so the Cobra Commander shoulders would fit properly and not look like a VvV figure. But by deepening the sockets, I had to add a little shim to the shoulder peg so it would go in all the way. I sliced a piece off of a Stormshadow lower leg as the shim since it already had a hole in it, then stretched it over the shoulder peg. I also made an indentation along both sides of the torso to allow the arms to go all the way to the sides like the 25th figures have.

For the legs, I used Stormshadow uppers, knees, and about 1/8th below the knees. The lower legs are from Wild Weasel. I "dremeled" the hinge part off and glued them to the portion below the knees. I also "dremeled' the feet off and made sockets to fit the Snake Eyes boots. The map pouches are sculpted on, with one having scribbly notes, and the other having a map of Panama, as a nod to my wife.

Image

I used the Firefly neck, although looking back, I should have used Stormshadow's because his is obviously covered in cloth and has wrinkles, which would have looked better. The head is a Jango Fett head. I chose it because 1) he looks scruffy and mean with the five o'clock shadow and shifty eyes, and 2) because he's scarred up, which kind of jives with Wild Weasel's file card information.

He almost got a full harness, but the one I had just didn't look right. I think a rebel pilot harness would look a lot better because they have better texturing and aren't as thick.

Image

And there you have it:

Head: Jango Fett
Neck: Firefly
Torso, lower legs: Wild Weasel
Arms: Cobra Commander
Upper legs: Stormshadow
Feet: Snake Eyes

Wow Mundo, that's some really extensive mods you put into him. The WIP pics will be very helpful for when we "borrow" him. ;-) Great job!

Outstanding job! Probably one of the best 25th custom I've seen. You've got gonads of steel to try all those mods on one fig!

Great custom. I might have updated the helmet but as far as celebrating the original this is perfect. Great head choice too. I would have never thought of it but it works so well.

Smooth custom. Quite a finished product you have when you take into account all the mods. I hope this is what we can expect if they release a 25th Wild Weasel.

Thats a wonderful custom.

The WIP shots really help show the level of skill that went into creating this.

Fantastic.

One small comment though- IMO, the chest pouches would look a little better if they were painted the same shade as teh rest of the fig.

He looks good! Yeah I guess I could see Wild Weasel maybe looking sort of like Jango Fett under the helmet. Great mods!
