Finally finished up a couple of these and got some pictures taken of them.

Star Brigade Countdown
This figure came about for two reasons. First, I really love the Roadblock Star Brigade figure. Maybe it was seeing the NASA launch suits in the movie Armageddon or maybe because orange is my favorite color, but the figure stands out amongst the crowd. Second I had this casting of Mega Marine Falcon that I really wanted to use. When I came across a beat up Payload version 2 at a toy show, I remembered Grand Slam's repaint of the mold for his Countdown custom. I knew I wanted to do something similar. I started by dying the white figure orange. It came out a little darker then the more neon-ish Roadblock. A little black trimming along with gun metal and silver for the details as well as some Tamaya clear red on the visor of the helmet, add the painted Falcon head, which resembles Countdown anyway, and presto change-o, Star Brigade Countdown.

Head: Mega Marine Falcon casting
Body and helmet: Payload v.2

Tiger Force Psyche Out

A long, long time ago someone suggested a remake of TF Psyche Out. I came up with the idea of using Cutter v.2's legs instead since they already were blue and had most of the white on the bottom. 3 chewed up Psyche Outs and 3 Cutter's later, I was finally able to make this custom. It kept getting pushed to the back burner until the Tiger Force vs Python Patrol group project came around. Sadly, it took four arms to make this custom. I hadn't realized all 3 sets of his arms were in the parts box. I initially grabbed and painted 2 right arms and didn't notice until I was putting the figure together for the first time. The first left arm was painted and one of my dogs or the couch ate it. I painted the final left arm, matched the tiger striping and screwed the figure together to make sure I didn't have to paint another arm for him.

Upper body: Psyche Out
Lower body: Cutter v.2 w/ BBi holster
Pistol: Marauder Inc.

Conan the Barbarian

This figure was a labor of love. I got the Arnold head casting version of Conan from JFAK and had to make one based on Dark Horse's design. It was going to be based more loosely on his comic appearances, but the only iconic look I found was the movie version which suited the head perfectly. I did throw in the shield, which was based on a comic cover, mainly because I had the parts. This figure is a culmination of every customizing skill I have. There was dying, painting eyes, dry brushing, real clothing, sculpting (in both Sculpey and epoxy), parts searching, sanding, dremeling, jewelry making, sword sharpening, and styrene cutting. The only thing he doesn't have is a complex camo paint scheme. He's definitely a figure I couldn't have made even a year ago.

Head: JFAK casting
Body: Microman Kinnikuman Terryman (say that 3 times fast)
Right arm wrist band: SHS Ghost Rider
Left arm wrap: leather from old wallet
Loin cloth: dog toy
Diaper: leather from old wallet
Belt buckle: styrene, paper, sculpey, and wire
Boot fur: new sculpt Snow Serpent
Wheel of Pain necklace: thread, jewelery wire, and toothpicks
Dagger: BBi
Sword sheeth: Papo figurine
Atlantean Sword: casted hilt, styrene blade, green stuff details
Shield: LOTR minimate shield and arrow, Papo shield, Scarlet crossbow arrow

Lastly a repaint of sorts. If you haven't heard the story behind the SDCC exclusive R2-KT you need to check it out here. http://www.r2kt.com/ I started this figure before I knew I could get one off of the Hasbor Toy Shop. Still I like the chrome dome and perescope better.

The entire figure is a Hoth escape R2 with labels, paint and love.

I really liked Connan and Countdown. I had not heard of R2-KT and checked the link. It by far is now my favorite of the bunch. Great work on these.

Dude... That Conan is... astonishing. It's amazing the amount of work and care you packed into that bad boy. The parts you used read like a list of things I would never think to use in a custom.

Psych Out's arms DO look tasty though... ;) Nice work here, and a good call on the lower body.

Damn you... I've been wanting a Payload v2 to customize with. I LOVE that helmet...

Sharp work on KT too. I can't see a single spot that you missed, and I agree, the chrome adds a lot here. Nice work!

They're all great, but I LOVE that Countdown!!! I'm totally in love with that.

And R2-KT is sad. I knew the story but still.

Great customs, I especially like the R2-KT. Every time I read that story it gets to me. I wonder what the Joe community would make in such a situation.

I'm thinking a Pink HISS tank.

The Countdown is the best custom I've seen in a long time. I really like how you tinted the visor.

That Conan is easily the best Conan custom I've seen. I would just touch up the eyes a little.

The others are top notch also, but I'm just too floored by that Countdown to comment now :-D
