Nice work. Again, it's good to see you improving.
I just upsized a Solid Snake head for a S6 custom. So it was cool seeing your take.

I really like the un-named guy with the chain. Those parts look really sweet in red. I am stumped on a name for him though. Nice job!

Couple of possible names:

Charon.

Necros.

Cerberus. (although that would be a better name for a dog!)

Reap

Thanks guys! JFAK, that rocks! Solid Snake head for Sigma 6 sounds great.. i could use that in the future.

As for the name, i don't know bigtattoo.. i'm not quite sure on a name, though i like your choices, i have no idea what they meen.. i was sorta thinking of something like "Rageing Pheonix"or something cool like that to do with Fire.

They look good.

As for the unnamed Cobra, the first thing I thought of was how well he'd work as the "Firefly as the Warlord of the Red Ninjas" from the Marvel run (during the second story arc with the Ninja Force where they go into the Silent Castle).

Looks like he'd work real well for that. I have a few extra Sci-Fi v1 torsos that I've been trying to use for something. Now I know!

Thanks dude. So you say he looks like Firefly? what about the scars though? he is also missing his right eye(white painted over with a scar on each side of his eye).. unless Firefly got in a horrific Car crash i don't think he'd look like that. lol. I could see this though, Firefly trying to make a bomb: "Dang wire.. gotta connect that to that, and this to that.. and perhaps this to," BOOM!

lol

Solid snake looks pretty good...I think if you cleaned up the painting on the edges of the hair, maybe thicken up his facial hair and eyebrows...the width of the head, combigned with the thinness of his mustache and eyebrows makes him look kinda pudgy...like Pauley Tutle from American Choppers. looks like you might have smudged the eye and nose a bit too...otherwise he looks cool.

The Red Barrage dude is neat...not sure where your going, but makes me think of the DD red shadow. Any reason you went with the "dirty red shorts" over top of red pants look? More black, less yellow, and ditch the scars...they don't add a whole lot and just make the figure look kinda sloppy.

I really like the way that Sci FI body looks in red, great work getting rid of Law's goofy face...the head's a bit lopsided...it looks like he's got a dent on the top of his head. Weapons look really cool... I like the inclusion of a chain...maybe somthign a bit smaller and more in scale would look better though. Get the other twin...Use the double shoulder paludrins...it's the only way to go.
I really like the look of this fig...no clue on bio...but he's def a cobra merc/assassin. Reminds me very much of The Mike(TM)'s figure Backslash http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... re&id=6644

Also...it wouldn't hurt to tone down the scars...right now there are really just too many and they don't look a whole lot like scars. I think it works really well on ARAH figs to take an exacto blade and lightly draw on your scars. go over them a few times to make sure they're deep enough to hold onto a little bit of color...maybe even heat the blade a bit so you don't have to use too much pressure. knock down any rough edges, give them a wash of a dark red to fill the "scar" then dry brush with a light red/pink to highlight the edges of the "scar"...a lot of the time Less is more.

Names:

Charon- was teh Ferryman of the dead across the river Styx in Greek mythology.

He was the reason people left coins on the eyes of the dead- to pay the Ferryman.

Necros- I actually think I may have picked that up from Soul Caliber.

Its basically just a play on the Latin for death- necro

Cerberus- was a three- headed dog who guarded the entrance to the Underworld (again Greek mythology- though iirc it was also a dog in one of the Harry Potter books/films)

Reap- self explanatory, just a shortened version of Reaper.

I agree that the character has more of a Merc feel.

The red Barrage guy is based of Volgin from Metal Gear Solid 3 the Video game... heres a reference pic:

Thats the reason for the scars, i know.. they were a bit rushed and they don't look top notch, but there good enough for me(no offence).

Like em both, nice job. I would name the ninja looking dude with the chain Bash. Then you can further the battle sound ninjas that fill cobra ranks.

Slash
Slice
Dice
Bash
