Excerpt from the field report of Galactic Intelligence: Joint Operations Elite aquatic warfare specialist Deep Six:

Shortly after my covert arrival on Aquos, my planetside contact brought me to see a being known as "The Last Prophet", a native Aqualon who claims to be the keeper of Aquos' ancient secrets. The being I was brought to meet entered the room, flanked by several younger Aqualon handlers, his robe shifting color between blue and green as if made from the very oceans themselves. As he entered, leaning on his rather odd walking stick, my eyes were drawn to the strange copperoid key hangng below the brilliant blue jewel at the staff's apex.

An interesting physiological aside about Aqualons- as they age, they develope increasing numbers of facial tentacles. Although I know very little about the overall phsyology of the average Aqualon, judging by the abundance of facial tentacles on the Last Prophet, he must be ancient.

The Last Prophet began his narrative:

"Many thousands of years ago, Aquos was home to two races, the primitive Aqualon and the mighty At'Alantians. Guarded by thier massive protector, the Leviathan, the At'Alantians were masters of a power that enabled them to achieve all of their dreams. A power that allowed them to work miracles. But ultimately, a power that caused their destruction. The high priests of At'Alantis grew corrupt with power, and ultimately corrupted the very power that allowed them to exist. As punishment for their sins, in a single night, the mighty continent of At'Alantis sank beneath the waves. An emisary known to us in legend as "The First Prophet" survived the cataclysm, sailing alone in a tiny At'Alantian craft until he set foot apon the island of Octopon. He had with him a locked chest containing the fabled "Seven Keys Of At'Alantis" as well as an amulet and a small puzzle box, both carrying symbols of At'Alantian antiquity. The "First Prophet" also brought with him a tome containing the wisdom of At'Alantis, a tome that has become sacred to us.

As per his instructions, the seven keys would be spread to each of the seven spiritual leaders of the Aqualon to keep until such time as a cleansed At'Alantis will rise from the depths to usher in a new golden age for all of Aquos. When the time was right, an emissary from the stars would appear, reuniting the seven Keys as well as all of the people of Aquos, allowing At'Alantis' return to glory. The amulet and puzzle box would guide the emissary to At'Alantis' resting place when reunited with the "Keys" and their riddles were solved. The priests on Octopon did as the "First Prophet" instructed and sent couriers to the other six sects, each carrying one of the fabled "Keys" and a newly printed copy of the tome.

The "Keys" were guarded for thousands of years and the wisdom of At'Alantis became the central beliefs of the Aqualon as we developed into a more advanced society. Were it not for this wisdom, we never would have survived the "Dark Ages" and would have continued warring amongst ourselves until no Aqualon survived. Even in the face of our race's enslavement by the colonists, we held onto these beliefs and waited for the day when At'Alantis would once again rise and set us free.

Over five hundred years ago, the first pirate lord Jol'ee Raj'r, ransacked five of the temples containing the "Keys". He slaughtered the temples' occupants and stole the artifacts, distributing them to his top men, keeping the fifth one for himself. These men, using the influence of their posession of the "Keys", gathered together all of the various pirate vessels together into what would, over the centuries, become the five pirate clans, all originally flying Raj'r's skull flag. The sixth and seventh "Keys" were quickly hidden, lest we lose them as well. The remaining keys would be handed down from Prophet to Propet, keeping them safe until they could be reunited with their pilfered retheren. Over the centuries one fo the "Keys" vanished when the ship containing it's guardian Prophet disappeared while traversing the ninth sea. The seventh and final "Key" is in my posession, along with the amulet and puzzle box.

The time of At'Alantis' rising is growing near. The return of the Leviathan is the sign! You must reclaim the stolen "Keys" and discover the wherabouts of the missing seventh "Key". Only then will the amulet and box show you the way to the resting place of At'Alantis! You must do this for the sake of all Aquos!..."

He began to grow more and more agitated until his handlers finally had to usher him from the room and sedate him lest he suffer a coronary reaction. I understood the Leviathan attack connection, but asked my contact what this legend had to do with the recent coordination between the pirate clans that I was investigating. He had no answer for me, only stating that he was instructed to bring me to the Last Prophet for an audience.

This mission was going to be interesting...

That looks really great. I can't think of the species' name, but Davy Jones actually kind of resembles those squid-guys from Admiral Ackbar's planet. His head works well here.

You are thinking of the Quarren. They only have 4 facial tentacles though, and will feature pretty heavily in this series (in fact, Deep Six is a Quarren!). It was this very similiarity that lead me to consider the Joneshead for this project in the first place as it looks pretty believable as a SW species :)
