Ok, I've literally been working on a decent LJ head for years now -- which is odd because I never really liked the character - she was a little too [LASER BLAST] in the comics and irritated the "LASER BLAST" out of me in the cartoons. Nonetheless, I've been trying forever to get a decent head for her. I modded a Bespin Leia a couple of years ago and it sucked. I used a Bombstrike head for a while, which never looked right, then I used the Comic Pack LJ, but I never liked that either. Then I got the 25A Jaye and figured I have to get rid of that damn hat! Well, today I managed to ruin a SW Dark Woman head and a Mara Jade head trying to get them to look right - no luck. Then, in a flash of well, let's just say brilliance :P, I noticed that the Elizabeth Swan face would look good for Jaye. Of course, I didn't want to sculpt any hair, so I tried to transplant the Swan face onto the Dark Woman head -- no luck, since the DW hair was too big for Liz. Then I rummaged thru my fodder drawer and found a long-lost Bombstrike hairpiece! I went to work immediately trying to piece together the Liz head with the BS hair and this is what I came up with:

Image

I think she looks rather [LASER BLAST], which really suits me fine :D The hair does look a tad crooked - but that was a result of trying to get Liz's ear to line up right, and I think it has that tousled look of LJ anyway. And of course, since I already went against my better judgement by making an LJ in the first place (I was pretty happy when DDP killed her off), I went ahead and painted her to sorta match the cartoon version (and I hate the cartoon.) So a whole evening of compromising my principles to get this friggin' custom straight. Whew!

Oh, and here she is with Flint right before Flint gives her the boot for being a pain in the ass :P

Image

Cheers!

EDIT: Ok, the Scarlett head is lookin' too Anime for me. What do you think about Natalie Portman as Scarlett? (seems fitting since Keira Knightley is Lady Jaye :P)

Image

EDIT again :P --

Wow Dan, first you work the hell out of the SnakeEyes mold, and now the Liz Swan heads. Makes a very convincing LadyJaye.

Thanks guys!

And Stan, the purpose of this custom was NO HATS :P

Here's a sneak peak at my latest:

Image

I think the longer neck makes her chin look less manly. The sucky thing is that now Scarlett's head is looking too cartoony next to the other chicks - I'll probably have to swap that one out as well. :-/

Now I just gotta find a decent Jinx head that I don't have to paint.....

Chief, nice job on all. I was pondering the hatless question as well, and you hit it on the money. You seriously need to cast the LJ head.

WOW! The realistic heads really work here.

This is exactly what I imagine the movie line to look like :)

lady j and covergirl both look really cool. I would buy both of them if they were in the store.
Do you have any extra lady J's to sell?

I am sooo stealing those head ideas. I've got a loose Bombstrike hair and Liz Swan heads both handy...and the other two, as well. Yes, the head of Lady Jaye shall be mine. I might even--gasp!--entertain the idea of buying a 25A Lady Jaye just to do this, it's that cool.

Very nice work there, Chief. :-) I'd say you took ugly plastic and made them damned sexy plastic. :shifty:

Dan,

Have you thought of the 'pea head' that came on the SHS DD? I removed the hair from Scarlett and am trying to work it on that head to give her a mask and long hair. Just an idea for you. Also if you use the Scarlett body, the Jinx skirt works with just a little work.

Thanks fellas!

Lance - I'm looking to make an unmasked Jinx head (I hate Joes in masks) -- I'd love to use the JFAK head that Cap used for his Ada Wong, but I don't want to paint any eyes (the reason I ruined so many heads for LJ.) I used a comic-pack Scarlett head for my VvV Jinx, so I might try modding that onto a 25A body. But I love the idea of a DD head/Scarlett ponytail for a Cobra custom!
