| Post subject: | ARAH 8 inch Tunnel Rat FINISHED |
I'm working on a project for a guy who loves Tunnel Rat. He sent me the 1987 figure and accessories and asked if I'd make an 8 inch version. I know Sigma 6 TR doesn't pop up on a lot of favorite lists, but I think I like this project! Here are pics with the sculpting done...do-rag, hair, bandanna. ![]() ![]()

Tried my hand at dying a figure for the first time... ![]() Really happy with the results! I only needed to touch up areas where extra paint was applied to the figure at the factory, like the fingers, kneepads, and inner thighs. I'd do it again. Here's the figure with basic paint apps. Still needs touched up and details: ![]()

Thanks! The green I used is actually a LOT darker than the original figure, but it's hard to tell in the picture. The guy likes it, tho, so it's all good. |

That is looking pretty good, I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks when it's finished up. What kind of dye are you using I thought all dye needed to be boiled and then have the pieces dropped in it, but yours looks like you just put it in a tub. Dave |

I used RIT liquid dye. i was afraid to put the figure in a boiling pot of dye...and didn't feel like ruining my cookware...so I put some dye in a ceramic bowl and added the boiling water...Also before I put the figure in, I poured boiling water over the figure, too. I guessed if it's soft going in, it'll soak up the dye even better. I also found that you can nuke the dye...just tried it for short periods. I don't know if I'd be brave enough to nuke the powdered dye, tho. |
