I know a lot of people dislike the bald head under the 25th Cobra Trooper/Officer helmet. While I am not bothered by it (I kinda like it) an idea hit me last night:

5 minutes of dremel work and 30 seconds of paint since Hasbro put his helmet on before the red dried. The helmet fits really nicely too. This is my SOLE 25th Officer so he'll be getting he original head back, but if I get a few troopers or Officers a few might get the DD styled heads.

Thoughts?

I like it better than the 25th head.

Maybe use it as the head for a specialty officer or trooper.

Nice dremmel work! Any thought about fixing Scarlett? ;-)

I really like it. I'd leave it, as the officer should look different from the rank and file, and the head completely nails making it original.

Thanks!

This is the second old style to 25th style head conversion I've done. It's surprisingly easy with the little conical stone bit Dremel included with my Stylus.

As for Scarlett's legs: When I get another one maybe. I'm not doing any drastic customizing until I have multiples of the figures. Head and hand swaps are a whole nother story though. . .

They make dye in that color? :shifty:

Cool head swap Drew. Think it might look better with another color either for or highlighting the mask as there's a whole lotta blue there.

Very nice. I gotta concur with Dave though. Some gray on the sides of the mask would really spruce it up. Though I can understand you avoiding that since the head isn't staying there.

When you say a little paint, what are you talking about? Does the head color match the uniform color? If so I'm totally stealing this idea and armybuilding this way. Way cooler than the bald heads.

The mask is about 1-2 shades brighter than the body color. Close, but not perfect. It almost perfectly matches the highlights on the straps though. . .

The only thing I painted was the strip down his head. The factory red had spots where it had rubbed off, as many of these figures do.

That looks really cool. I don't mind the bald head either, but I would have liked this in the 25A trooper too. This could be a cool comic pack figure.

I think it could be a different branch of Cobra Officer. Such as a water troop. Great idea.
