Hi... I'm new here. :shifty:

Ok, my first custom in almost two years. Well, that's not completely accurate as it was partially finished for at least a year and a half so I just did what I needed to do to get it into display shape. Be gentle... I know I could've done more details and stuff, but I just wanted to get a custom finished to break myself back in slowly.

I have no clue what to name this figure or what he does, so fire away.

Parts Used:
Head: Cobra Trooper
Torso: Mutt
Arms: Ambush
Waist: ?
Legs: Sure Fire v2
Pack: Viper v1
Gun: Marauder

Looks to me he should be an early-years pre-weird-armor TrackViper. The head really needs to be fixed so he's not looking up permanently, but the paintwork and general parts selection is pretty good. It's hard to go wrong with them Shockwave v2 legs. A headset would set him off nicely as a Tank Cmdr, imho.

Welcome to the site! Don't be a douche.

I can dig this. Is it a cobra jungle survivalist? I especially like the details you painted on like the knife sheath.

Other then his neck being way to short, I dig it.
And welcome.

I'd call him
No-Necks the Cosa-Nostra mafia viper

Necks are that rare class of vipers that that extort money from their own kind. Offering protection from Big boa, toxo viper duty, or Dr. Mindbender's experiments, Necks always have enough extra money to bribe Major Bludd to make sure their squads don't hit the field first. Afterwards they rarely have to keep their promise of protection, but do get to keep the money.
Since Cobra Commander is too, how shall this be put, delicate in conceptual prowess, it was via the initiative of Tomax and his wily brother Xamot that the Neck Vipers started muscling in on traditional five family territory paulie walnuts style. As cruel as Christopher Multisante, and as cunning as Joe Pesci, Necks have quickly become part of your neighborhood family.

I was also thinking early-era Cobra Jungle Viper.

The neck thing is a little distracting, but I've known guys who were built like this. You get used to them after a while.

It's not a short neck... it's a high collar. :-P

I'd use him as an updated Action Force Hunter. Maybe make him an ex-Cobra that's seen the light and still uses the gear when working for the joes. Green Cobras always look like good guys to me.

Funny, I don't get a "jungle" vibe at all, more an urban feel to me. Make good "Urban Viper", because "Alley Vipers" were so not street at all.

What about this being a Cobra garrison trooper? Once Cobra takes over a town, these are the guys that patrol and keep things locked down?

Colonel Belanova, Troop Commander. Half man, half Viper.

Man, those are some smooth, sweet paint apps for sure. You may have been out of practice but you haven't lost your touch, Beav. :-)

I dunno, I always kind of liked the no-neck look of that head; can't put my finger on why but it just has a "style" all its own and it works well here too. The idea of him being a garrison-style Viper (Fortress Viper? Rampart Viper?) really works. :-D
