Gung-Ho has specialized as the blunt force of the Joes for 25 years making use of the most destructive modern infantry weapons.

The old M79 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-79_grenade_launcher has been upgraded many times over as the M4/M2o3. It's a no brainer if you want your Gung-Ho to be a grenadier or rifleman.

On the other hand to wield the modern M60E4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M60_machine_gun#M60E4_and_Mk_43_Mod_0.2F1 seems more iconic somehow given Gung-Ho's brutish image.

The question is, what weapon is more iconic for Gung-Ho?

Which is modern the one I refer to as modern? Both weapons are modern, the M203 and the Mk43 Mod 0.

You mean the M60E4/Mk 43Mod 0 right?

I'd go with the blooper cause thats what his main figure usually came with. BUT when my nephew was in Iraq he carried the M-16/M203 along with the M243 SAW rifle so I don't see any reason for Gung-Ho not to carry both.

Except that the M4/M203 combo (which looks a heckuva lot like the M16/M203 combo) is LEatherneck's baliwick. I'd opt for the machine gun of those two choices, as it fits more with Gung-Ho's flag-waving, bullet-bandolier wearing, Rambo-esque version.

According to him thats what all Sgt's carried over there. He arrived there the second day of the war and got his promotion to Sgt the day he arrived. He's short and would have perferred a M-4/M203 and the Saw but he got what he was trained with. Plus the M243 had the large scope on it as well.

In my opinion Gung Ho has to have something that fires grenades. It is just part of his character. The other reason that I am not partial to a MG for him is that the Joes already have several others that carry that burden for the team.
