He started off as an accident, I was test fitting a Marauder vest on a 25th figure to see if it would fit and I liked the look.

I figure this guy is the trooper equivalent or a predecessor of an Alley Viper. I kept the officer emblem and helmet and made the helmet emblem and officers bars silver to denote a junior grade officer or NCO.

Neat...I'm not wild about it...but it's good to know the PTE stuff fits teh 25th figs well.

Have you tried it with the Trooper's legs...I think the black kneepads would look better.

This is neat. This shows how the 25A figures give Cobra troops the ability to have a uniform look but with different specialties. I like what you've done here, especially the added touch of changing the skin tone.

I too like what you've done here. I was wondering how I might change the Officer emblem on the helmet to make a lower grad officer or different type of trooper and what you did was very good. A simple paint swap and you get a whole new rank. Very cool.

I do agree that the kneepads would look better in the black than gray. They just pop too much and with the black vest they stick out way too much. I'd either paint the kneepads or add some gray/silver accents to the vest to blend it all in. Maybe add a silver/gray Cobra sigil to the chest of the vest. They run around with bright red targets- err I mean "emblems" on their chests, so a bright gray emblem on their tac vest wouldn't be too out of place.

Nice job overall though. Now I know what to do if I ever get some of those officers for fodder.

Very cool, the vest works nicely and the idea works very well. I actually do not mind the pads it breaks up the blue and black a bit.
