Well, after seeing the pics today - I'm just not that pumped about the new Stalker. The head is sweet, but the paint job looks like crap. And I don't want to have to wait for Wave 3 for one of my favorite characters, so I took my last remaining comic pack Lonzo head and whipped this baby up:

And here he is with his BFF :P

I've got another 25A project in the works - but I'm waiting for the Green Stuff to cure. Should have a nice surprise up tomorrow.

Cheers!

That's what I was hoping for on 25A Stalker! Did you just do a few paint wipes to get the camo effect? How did you match up the neck skin-tone to the head?

Thanks guys -

Neck paint was just regular ol' Americana "Light Cinnamon", which works well for the darker skin tone.

Camo effect was 'painstakingly' brushed on using Black Tamiya on top of Green Tamiya (I did go back over the black stripes with a touch of green to get the tiger stripe effect, so yeah, there were some minor paint wipes in the 'touch-up' phase.)

Now that's cool, nice camo for a few paint swipes.

That looks great, Chief! You really nailed this one. I too was hoping for a darker camo scheme on Stalker much like the original. The Hasbro release tends, IMHO, to lean a bit towards the comic-pack look.

Awesome work man... I really dig it. How well does that paint hold up under 'play' on those joints?

Thanks!

On this one, the paint holds up great. But that's because I'm using the high-end paints and it's a dark green on a dark gray base. You don't notice any of the unpainted joints because it blends in with the camo. The only real pain in the ass is the neck - I have to make sure I Dremel the head out good enough so that it doesn't scrape the paint off when I move it, but if I Dremel it too much, it doesn't stay on by iteself. So far, it's holding up pretty well.

The fig I'm working on now has a lot of black & white painted joints, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get the paint to stick to those without having to sand the "LASER BLAST" out of the joints first. We'll find out tomorrow, I guess.

I can dig it. The only thing I would change is to paint the straps on the legs and arms to match the harness.

Sweet job, I think we are getting a darker camo Stalker though BUT I like yours regardless.

very nice. I like seeing these 25th customs alot. I think his hands need to be his skin color but otherwise awesome...And you answered my question about paint holding up I was wondering that.

Awww, I rather liked the lemony yellow, orangy orange and grapety purple version from Hasbro :rotfl:
Man, even I don't believe me...

Very cool, Chief, but for some reason I think he really needs bare hands. Not sure why, but I must do as the spirit command.

Stalker looks Great! You did an awsome job on him.

He only needs his camera to 'shoot' some deer now.
