Post subject:  Rock 'n' Roll - 25th Style!!!
Here is my first 25th Anniversary custom and of course its Rock 'n' Roll. I got the idea for using the Obi-wan head from Chief (thanks man!). He used it on a Snake-Eyes body for his Chuck Norris and it hit me that it would look great as Rock 'n' Roll. The rest was just finding a combination of parts that didn't look like a repaint of Roadblock. Painting the arms to look like a skin tight shirt was just easier than trying to get the fleshtone to look good and it was easier to paint the elbow bands as part of a shirt than to sand them off. And I added a grenade launcher to the Marauder minigun so there would be a reason for him to have the grenades on his leg.

I know Hasbro is rumored to have Rock 'n' Roll in the lineup for the 25th treatment (I'm hoping in the bonus wave for this Christmas season) but I needed one right now and I'm really happy with the way he turned out.

Very cool! Only coment is that the hair and shirt are a bit too close in color. May want to venture towards a darker tan or drab green. Just a thought though.

Oh yeah, that's a keeper! I've been meaning to update my R&R and I think I found the right formula -- really cool.

Thanks Chief! Glad you like him, since I stole the head idea from you ;)

As for the hair and shirt color being close that's because they are the same color paint. I tried to lighten up the hair but nothing I did looked good. I do have a different color tan I could use for the shirt but I already sealed him up and posed him and I'm just too lazy to change it. I will keep that in mind for my next one though, and yes I do have another planned :D

I did have to fill the head with a little bit of Fixit since the neckballs on the SW figs are slightly bigger than the Joes. But a little Fixit and some very minor dremelling to get the fit right was all it took.

I really like most of this custom, but the shirt is throwing me.

Part of me thinks an easy fix woyld be to drab green the whole body down to those armbands, which could easily be bunched up shirtcuffs.

Other than the shirt, though, this is fantastic.

Which head is that one? I know they have a few bearded heads but not sure which one you're talking about.

Can't find it on the site. I think it is a version of the comic pack R&R. Would it be big enough?

Very nice use of that Obi-Wan head. With the hair repainted it doesn't even look like Obi-Wan anymore. I'd personally go with a different shirt color, but if you like it as is, that's cool.

Yeah the comic pack RnR head would work too. I don't know if GtG has a cast of that though.

I was a bit torn about the shirt color myself but I used the v.2 RnR figure as a basis for this one so that's how I explain the tan shirt and green pants. yeah yeah that's it :D
