After drawing up the pimp coat and hat on Destro when we first heard about PDD being at San Diego Comic Con, I've decided to make the coat and hat. I had some scrap plastic and decided to do a quick idea. It's not final at all. It's just the "Prototype" if you want to call it that. I'm actually remaking it which is why you don't see any detail on it in the following pictures. The hat however will be used. I have to add a top to it and it'll be ready to go.

Anyway I just thought I'd share some pictures. Once I get the jacket made, I'll actually be casting it. I'm going to make it in in a style that will look "pimp-like" when painted, but also be able to be painted and used as a typical trench coat too. It'll be cast in a rubber type of material I have. If there's enough interest, I'll do a limited run for other that may want the set.

I think they are hilarious and can't wait to see them done. Nice work on both.

That is a great idea. I cant wait to see what you come up with for a final image. I love that hat, but it does need the feather.

Now, who is going to get his cane and cup done?

Glad you guys like it. So far the hat is just the brim. I've got the top shaped out but haven't hollowed out the inner part for the head to fit in. But it'll have a snug fit. When I cast it and make the rubber version, it should fit any figure's head of G.I.Joe scale. It does have a feather, hehe.

The coat will be totally redone. I just mostly wanted to see how this plastic will work for this project. It works great on vehicles, but I didn't know in this type of work. It's hard once it's cooled, I mean it is plastic. Because of that, I probably won't be able to put it on Destro until I cast it. So I got to get it right before I do that. It's looking like I might cast the head and torso of the new Destro, just to have a model to fit to. I don't want to screw up a good figure just for a trench/pimp coat. I decided to use this stuff because I figure it'll hold up better than using clay when I cast.

Hehe, that works! It'd be funny to see a PDD comic!
