This all came about when they released the awesome new Alternator Ravage - not needing two Alt Ravages, I had the choice to either have him displayed in car mode on my Cassettebot shelf (and get a smallest Soundwave to drive him), or make a custom out of him. Obviously I decided to make a custom ;)

Firstly I was tempted to make a Machine Men Crasher as Alternator, as I'd already turned Alt Rollbar into Smallfoot. However I decided against a direct copy of her character, instead making more of a homage, and also a third battlecharger (see techspecs at the end).

First up is her holo-driver, a repaint of MASK Vanessa Warfield.

The colour choices will be much clearer later.

I decided while I was at it to add some little details (green stuff dice):

Image

I have to detail the CD's a bit (cut from thin plasticard), any suggestions to what music to put in there?

Image

Custom number plate - The letters are done with those letters that come on a sheet that you rub the back of with a pencil. They're a bit wonky, but it'll do. I wanted to do 'my other car is a 60ft transforming giant robot', 'I don't break for Autobots' and 'Micromaster on board' bumper stickers, but there's almost no way I can get them realisticly scaled and still be able to read them :-|

Image

Head is the face from headmaster Fangry, mounted on the 'skull' if you will. Repainted to match Crasher's colours rather than plain green. I did some generic sculpting on the sides to join them up - it's a bit rough, but does the trick (and is almost impossible to photograph :-/ ).

Techspecs, created at Skyjammer:

Image

Name: Runaround
Allegiance: Decepticon
Subgroup: Battlechargers
Function: Shock Trooper
"There's no prize for second place!"

Profile:
An arrogant, blustering, egotistical showoff, Runaround constantly feels the need to prove she's the best. Whilst seemingly calmer and more level headed than her Batllecharger brethren, this veneer quickly comes of when victory is on the line. Takes extreme risks to come out on top, often disregarding her teammates, mission and personal safety. Often cruises city streets at night looking for fleshlings to drag race. Not beyond ramming her opponents to win, though never kills them as then she would have nobody to gloat over.

Abilities: In car mode, Runaround has a maximum speed of 190 mph and a range of 500 miles. She can transform to robot mode in .5 seconds. Uses an ion blaster that shoots a highly charged stream of charged particles that disable enemy circuits. Follows up with twin plasma blast missiles or double barreled fusion guns.

Weaknesses: Runaround can easily be distracted from her mission or goaded into a fight by the slightest challenge to her ego. Often damages herself taking extreme risks. Often returns to base with four blowouts from too many high speed corners.

Thanks, it was actually somewhat refreshing to work on - a bit different to Joes and such, and it came out pretty much as I'd wanted.

This project actually started from the scale - I was making a 1/24 Cobra Commander out of Miles Mayhem to go with my MP Megatron (who was seized by customs  ), and thought to do some other 'holodrivers' for my Alts.

The detailing is spectacular, as I've come to expect wiht your work. I love alternator customs.

Your next challenge? Modify an alternator with a 1:24 model kit from an entirely different car. (I've seen thins done with a Delorean, and it's spectacular...)

Still haven't decided what cds to put in there yet... and I don't think I'll be going quite that far yet Raps, my next project is turning Dead End and Grimlock into Runabout and Runamuck respectively.
