Prince Acroyear:

Helmet: Sculpted. The same one I used for Spartak, but with the Superman head inside
Head: Cast of Guillotine from the Viper Lockdown set
Body: Microman Superman (comic version)
Sword: Stikfas Omega Knight

I have had a go at this figure a couple of times before, but never been really satisfied with the results. Prince Acroyear was always my favourite character from teh Micronauts comic and I wanted a figure that did him justice. I have always seen him as bigger than not just the other characters, but also the rest of his race. Selective breeding, maybe? He also seemd to be far stronger than any other Acroyear. He stopped a battlecruiser at full speed in mid-air with one kick. I deliberately made his skin darker than in the comic. I wanted a complete contrast for when I do Shaitan. I might make Cilicia a very dark brown.
Okay I cheated with the helmet. ;) But I already had that one made and I can swap it between the two figures. Same with the sword. In fact I think that the helmet is more in scale with this figure than Spartak. The red bits on his armour are all large beads. I cut down the ones on his boots because the full size ones just looked ridiculous.

Cool stuff. I've really been enjoying these recent Micronauts customs.

DAMNIT!! Why are you making me go buy another MicroSupes to copy your custom?!?! :P

Really, this is awesome - and I am going to copy most of it when I get the right parts. I thought about using a Kinnikuman for one, but you're right - Acroyear needs to tower above everyone else, and Micro Superman is the only guy for the job.

Any plans for an Arcturus? I'm thinking I'll use a Comic-pack Obi-Wan for a "bearded" version.

Great stuff!

Thanks, and have fun making it. I cut Guillotine's nose off and ground the neck down to fit.

I did think about using the Vintage Saga Collection Greedo for Rann. The jumpsuit is perfect. Just needs different hands and head, and the glider pack from the Space Glider figure.

I am going to use the Karza figure I did for my other figures, but I have ordered another Cobra Commander fgure and pcked out another figure for a special project.

BTW, going to use a JvsC Scarlett for Cilicia.

And what would my Acoyear figure be without his traitor brother?

Shaitan, Albino Traitor Prince of the Acroyears:

Image Image

Image

Helmet: Material Force Head, covered in epoxy clay and parts of a dollar store sword added
Head: Plague Trooper Guillotine
Figure: Military Force Virtual Task Microman
Armour: Sculpted, with craft eyes
Sword: Chap Mei (I think)

Lady Cilicia:
Image Image

Image Image

Amazingly, the parts I used are in scale with the pictures in the comics.

Head: Episode 1 Tatooine Padme with Stikfas Female ponytail
Helmet: Microman Material Force Male blank head with Stikfas Female Ponytail
Arms/Torso/Waist: JvsC Scarlett
Legs: Zartan V7
Energy Sword: Nunchuk v2

Once I had the Acroyear done, I had to do a custom of this guy:

Image Image

Image Image

The heads are interchangeable, as with Acroyear and Cilicia.

Head: Depth Charge, with antennae from a Kinder Egg toy fitted in.
Helmet/Head: Depth Charge head with CLAWS Commander helmet and Kinder toy antennae
Body: Material Force Microman
Armour: Green Stuff
Rocket Lance: Stikfas Omega Knight Spear with Rocket from Stikfas Delta Boy Extreme

Currently working on Rann and Mari. Might have pics up this weekend or early next week.

First a WIP group shot:

Image

I am working on versions of Biotron and Microtron, although they will be updated versions, not entirely faithful to the comic versions.

Commander Arcturus Rann:
Image Image Image

Figure: Depth Charge
Feet: Modded Clone Wars Kit Fisto
Pistol: Xyber 9
Helmet/Glider Wings: Pallisades Reissue Space Glider
Glider Controller: Pallisades Reissue Time Traveller

Princess Mari:
Image Image

Head: Episode 1 Padme with Green Stuff sculpted on for hair
Figure: Material Force Microlady

Baron Karza (Helmet Resculpted):
Image

I saw JFAKs Karza and decided to redo mine.

and now for something completely different. Mego and The Micronauts comic threw up some interesting bad guys. This one caught my imagination. The toy looked a bit crappy, so out came the modelling clay and scalpel:

The Toy:

The comic version:

The Custom:

Lobros:
Image Image

Arms/Legs/Waist: Gladiator figure
Feelers: Off a cheap scorpion toy
All the rest: Sculpted epoxy clay over a Floam core

Kambei,
Inspiring work. Rann and Mari are almost exactly how I wanted to go about making them, so it's nice to see those. The Karza reworks looks cool, but I thought the original design was fine. Lobros is just bad ass. SO much better then the original.
I'm looking forward to your interpretation of Biotron and Microtron.

Great work on everything. The new stuff is looking good. That Lobros is down right weird, man!

As I said, I have been working on the Roboids. I recently got hold of some Gundam kits very cheap, and was looking at the parts, so I did a severe kitbash with them and came up with these:

Biotron:
Image

Head: V2 Destro
Arms/Torso/Waist: Sword Strike Gundam
Legs: Dragon Gundam
Various bits: Mobile Ship Albion

Microtron:
Image Image

Head: Various parts from Mobile Ship Albion and Sword Strike Gundam
Body: Mobile Ship Albion plus parts from various Gundam kits
Arms: Dragon Gundam
Tracks: Airfix Robogear Helix

I used what parts seemed to work and I am happy with the result. I deliberately made Microtron look far more high tech than Biotron. The former was constructed 1000 years later and would be a far superior model.

And now, the group shot:

Pretty cool additions with the 'trons. It is too bad those bigger gundam kits are so expensive or you could have made these into the customizeable vehicles the original toys were. Still very cool. Microtron looks flat out awesome even though I miss his, uh, pelvis drill. :D

This is one Micronauts custom that I was dreading doing since I planned it several weeks ago. Turned out a lot easier than I had originally thought. Had to do one of these to go with my Baron Karza figure:

Baron Karza, Centaur Mode:

Image Image

Image Image

Helmet: Sculpted (same one as with the humanoid figure)
Torso/Arms/Waist: GvsC Cobra Commander
Horse: Harry Potter Centaur (Creature 2 pack)
Cannons: SHS Human Torch
Missiles: Airfix Robogear
Tail: Stikfas Dragon

I reposted a pic of the bipedal Karza as comparison.
