1st, an Open letter to Operation MindCrime from the Crystal Army.

Sorry we've not kept up a production schedule that satisfys your insatiable need for Balls. The Crystal Ball genome is extremely complex, and in order to maintain hypnotic abilities, every step has to be done 7 times. Also we're working with an outside vendor..I'm sure you know how THAT goes...I think our sales rep's name is actualy Lama Poo...for serious...

Anyway we're working away at bringing you new and interesting Creations...we've shown you bits and peices along the way, but to keep sane can really only work at our own pace. Not to mention the fact that you've really kinda stolen our Thunder...How cheep would it look if we bring out Ballpentor after you've gone and cloned up Sirbendor.

Anywho, just keeping you informed...
Now get off out back about it.

:crystalball: :hypnoshield:

Ok...I'll prefeace this with the fact that Dr. MindChuckles was dreamed up before Operation Mindcrime really got a head of steam built up...he's prolly been in the works for over a year but still needs a bit more paint work on the face, plus a custom cape.

Image

Not sure yet which will look best...I'll either put the floral print in silver on this black cape sans cobra sigil...or make a hawian print shirt that looks like Chuckles normal shirt.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v644/ ... ckles3.jpg
I started shaving down Chuckle's head...but quickly realized that with all his hair, he's got no ears...rather than try and deal with sculpting, carving, or transplanting ears I just opted to make a face transplant...next update I'll show what became of the Mindbender face that was removed.

Image

Day at the Beach Mindbender is really a proof of concept custom. I was looking, and still am, for a paint that could reproduce the Zartan family's ability. I got close with a couple but they didn't have any colors that turned blue in the sunlight. This is Clear/Flesh to Red nail polish.
ImageImage
Image

Just a fun little idea that I think has turned out rather well...may still do a couple touch ups...prolly not though.

"Black Footloose" is just kinda a filler custom...I have no real intention to name him or create a further bio...I just like Footloose body's as generic troopers.
Image

"Swat" is another filler for the moment custom. Not sure I want to call him Heavy Duty..but I may. I just like the look of that surfire body, and that Maruader Shotgun is really cool.
Image
I'll prolly add a few more sets of those shells on the figure and shotgun...just so he's got plenty of ammo. Can't recall who's custom it was...but pretty sure they did a very similar custom...just didn't turn the hat around...thats really where this idea came from
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v644/ ... /SWAT2.jpg

Last for today are the Slaughter's Maruaders. This is an ongoing project...I'm not all that crazy about the skintone or quality of the SM figures. My plan is to Convert all their fleshy parts to domestic release versions...just need to find that blue.
Image

I love the Mauler, and the Equalizer...it's my favorite tank. I started pulling in enough Maulers and Equalizers to make a pair of Tank collumns each with 3 Maulers, 2 Equalizers, and 1 custom Bridglayer. I'd put the whole idea on hold when I though I was going to get the 3 Green Maulers from the Collectors Club.

Image

"Tanks for Nothing" I'll make my own. The brown isn't an exact match...thats even more obvious in natural sunligh like these pics are. Unless I find better It's good enough for me. I'm out of RTV rubber...once I order another pound or two I'll cast up the smoke stacks and then finish it all off with some JRuben Linx and Equalizer stickers.

I like the idea for the swat team builder, I'm working on a covert swat team myself and the surefire body just might fit the bill. They all lok good. Which version of HD did you use seems to me they all had the hat reversed or had a head scarf.

I like where you're going with Mind Chuckles. Cna't wait to see it taken a little further. His mustache looks off to me. The right side looks like it flairs out more then the left left.

Tanning Mindbender is just genious. You have to show us what nail polish that was and where you gt it. That is just too cool not to try myself.

Black Footloose works. That is the one RAH figure that could use some other characters to fill out the unfirom. It looks sharp.

Not crazy about the swat. The head looks good here but he needs a slightly longer neck. He looks too squat. Fix that and you have a winner.

I've never been crazy for Marauder figures. I dislike the colors. But giving them plastic that isn't nearly as fragile is a plus in my eyes.

However the Marauder vehicles were very cool and bringing the parts together to make a Marauder Mauler is even better then the proposed green Mauler the club was going to give us.

Very nice work you have here. I really like the SM Mauler. Would you have any pictures of your custom bridge layer? Thanks for sharing.

Talk about stealing one's thunder.... :shifty:

Mind Chuckles is looking good. Gonna hafta wait a while before I do mine now... I wouldn't even do it, but you gave me that cast head from yours and what else am I gonna do with it? ;) I like how you did the whole Face\Off thing with him... It's just that the seam is still so visible to me, and it draws my ire.

Sunburn Bendy is awesome, and I've seen that effect first hand. I love it. I want it. :shifty: Seriously, that's the sort of innovation that I am so into these days and I applaud your using such a fine specimine to test it out on. :D

I've been on the same page as you with the Footloose and Sure Fire bodies. Great sculpts for team building.

And the Mauler... that's grand. I can't believe I've not seen this done before...

Splendid work boyo! Now see if you can't keep uip the pace a little eh? Although I see it appears you have been holding out on me a little and casted a few parts I was unaware of... :shifty: Perhaps I WILL have to make it down there one of these weekends sooner or later... :D

I like them all so far, especially the 'Tropic Thunder' Footloose!

That is an easy fix. A little watered down elmer's glue acts as a nice spackle. When it dries and fills in that crack you won' be able to tell there was a seem at all. Once it is painted it will look like it came that way.

that's the V1 Heavy Duty head...I just turned his hat around.

Solar Magic Is the brand nail polish I bought. I ordered the Clear to black, Clear to purple, and Clear to rose. I've misplaced my testing card...but I'm pretty sure this is actualy the Clear to Purple color.

I know what you're saying about his neck...but I think it's more work than its worth...I'm happy to just say that he's got a stocky build. Basicly mods to the neck would involve needing to repaint skintone...that's somthing I'll avoid if at all possible.

Not at the moment...I'd like to get it a little further along the build process before I start showing it off publicly... so with my pace you might see WIP pics sometime next June.

I don't have it handy here at work...but I'll get you the Colors of Paint I used....PM me if you want to work a Deal for the Cast HTF bits.

Heh...I can't give you all my sugar in one go...You just get a taste with each visit....LMK what works for you...I think next weekend there's the PA toy show at the Expomart.

and I'm gonna say it's just the lighting in that pic that makes the seam show so much...cuz I took that pick to show specifically where I joined the heads.

Thanks for all your input.

Figures, ehh, not an ARAH fan, but they look solid.

Now, the mauler. I think the marauders are a little more than a sweet sweet paint app.

You need to add a ridiculous amout of firepower if that is going to be a marauder vehicle.

More power!

:)

They're all good. Black Footloose is the best.

How hard is it to swap out the lower arms on a ARAH figure? I've never tried it.

Not hard at all. Though I've done it a number of times.
