Here a few quick figures I did from "Aliens".
Ripley w/ leather jacket and Carter Burke:

For Ripley I just used the Hot Toys Ripley, popped out her arm joints, and added Indiana Jones arms. The posts on the Indy arms popped right in to the torso after removing the black arm posts. The main part of her jacket is from a POTF2 Ceremony Luke figure. It was actually the first vest I was making for Burke, but it fell off of my spoon, and sat in the RIT dye too long while I was trying to fish it out. Oddly it actually matches the sleeves better than the original Indy jacket which was a lot lighter than the sleeves. The hands are from a "Capture of Tantive IV" Rebel Fleet Trooper figure, to match the flesh tone on her head.
Burke is RIT dyed Ripley legs and waist, Indiana Jones torso and arms (from the deluxe Ark pack), POTF2 Ceremony Luke "vest" lightly dyed to make it more tan than yellow, and a POTJ Jedi Knight Obi Wan head, modded to remove the braid and little pony tail, and repainted hair.
Ripley and Burke with my WIP Apone and Frost:
So far for Apone I started with the Hot Toys Apone figure and I have "shaved" off the lower part of his goatee, leaving only his mustache, as in the movie. Then I moved his holster higher on his web gear, also reflecting his look in the film. The only real thing left for him, is to find suitable binoculars for him.
Frost also started off as a Hot Toys Apone figure. He got a total "shave" and surprisingly looks very close to Ricco Ross, the actor who played Frost. Then he was given a satchel from an Indiana Jones figure to replicate the pouch he wore in the movie, that ended up with the squad's magazines in it.
For Frost I still have to add his armor markings.
Alien Queen:

I really liked aspects of both the old Kenner Queen figure, from the Hive playset, and the newer McFarlane Queen from the second series of AVP figures. So I combined them.
It has the crest, arms, and legs from the Kenner figure, which all better represent the way the Queen looked in "Aliens".
The things the McFarlane figure really had going for it was the detail on it's body, and face, and it's nicely detailed and "bendy" tail.
The McFarlane figures legs are on a ball joint so they just popped right off. The Kenner legs are on a post. The post is part of the torso, so they pop right off too. After popping off the legs, I found that they are a perfect fit to the ball joints on the McFarlane figure! So the new figure retains ball jointed hips.
After removing the McFarlane figures head, the post that held the head came off too. I filled in the rubbery neck "sleeve", which was hollow. I then attached the McFarlane "face" and then added the Kenner crest.
For the arms I cut off the McFarlane figure's arms and then dremeled notches in the Kenner figure's arms. They then fit right on to the existing shoulder joint on the torso. The arms don't have the ball joint now that the McFarlane figure had, but they do still have the same up and down motion that the Kenner figure had. Just no forward a back motion.
When it was all said and done the new figure is more articulated than the Kenner figure, but not quite as articulated as the McFarlane figure.
-No real head or neck joint.
-Ball jointed chest.
-Ball jointed hips.
-Swivel shoulders.
-Bendy tail.
I also did a dry brushing of dark grey on the Kenner parts, so they matched the McFarlane parts, except the crest that I wanted to keep a semi-gloss black.
With just the naked eye, and pictures without the flash, the parts go very well together and the crest has a slight shine to it.
Unfortunately when using the flash for pictures, the grey shows WAY more prominently than it does otherwise:

Thanks for looking!
