thanks dropshipbob! the little jars came from the dollar tree a couple years ago. they came with glitter in them for fingernail iirc. I should of bought a lot more. after using these I ordered some off wish.com but I have no idea how they will compare in size. waiting on a slow boat from china to deliver them :) there are sellers on etsy that have actual mouse organs in little glass jars and if I had the $$$ i'd buy some.

I went back and looked at Frankenstein DR2K and realized he had heeled boots and flared? gloves. so I set about adding ij mutt boots and trying some elbow glove combos. I ended up happiest with neo viper elbows and a pair of force matched starwars gloves. I also got brave trying to make his scars ,and while at it tried to carve his helmet off a o-ring major blood. i'm glad I had an extra head that I just got from dropshipbob because i'm not very happy with the scaring. I used a candle heating up a pointy steel rod and didn't think it was working. as pluv so eloquently says...... EWE! the helmet was sooo much work, but I don't dig it either. lando? cape I just got in a trade from spec :)

Image
you've got a little somthin on your lip.....
Image
I also gut up a new sculpt helmet not pictured. I know there are some black cobra trooper helmets out there that will be perfect. just trying to use whats on hand.
Image
i'm still really happy with it now. it's a whole lot closer to correct and less gimp. I don't remember seeing DR2K so I really need to.
Image

I also just got my hands on fortnite figures for the first time, thanks to spec. i'm using the bear head on a 5po starwars figure for my 6yr old granddaughter. I was going to use the entire bunnyman as a custom frank from Donnie darko. the more images I looked at I decided I really wanted fur. I can't see sculpting all over the fortnite figure with all it's great articulation so I started looking at what else I have.
Image
the weird smaller skull is really close to franks face. I was kind of torn weather the wooky would be too big. I was saving the wook for a bigfoot custom, but I went for it.
Image
the smaller ij mutt w/starwars fur would work, but after all the sculpting i'd still be close to the same size frank in every way except height. in the end I can still shorten him if I must.
Image
next to 4" customs for scale. the jp guy got a head from dropshipbob that will hopefully look like the guy from the shining.
Image
I don't remember seeing Donnie darko, just kind of a film I knew about or saw imagery from. might have been in a "haze" and just can't recall it :)
Image
as imaginary bunnies go, he is on the big side. too big?
Image
Image

the other night while hotgluing on another project I stuck these static figures to dollar tree (faux succulent) pots I had left over from my hive. I sent some off a while ago to be used as city topiary type concrete planters, but turned upside down they are perfect height for statues. i'll spray them black or white then dry brush. i'm thinking the fairy will get wings and become an angel, the other guy will hold something? a cross or?

That is the best thing that has ever been done with a Wookie body!

Those all rock.

this is for an upcoming dio project, but i'm not sure where i'm putting it. I've had the skulls for a couple years and have given all but these 4 away. they came on a roll of vinyl trim from Halloween clearance. the connecting piece is a sprue from a ko lego set I think. it was bright orange. the eyes are painted then a glob of uv glue to hopefully give the effect of round natural gemstones.i took pics alongside an unpainted skull to show what I started with.

I love the Frank. I second the that that is the best use of a wookie ever.

painting the angel statue went really well, but the other guy with less sculpted detail started to just get muddy then paint started lifting. I went back into the angels head with white after drybrushing. on the brass cross holding guy was just trying to get even coverage, and the most detail.
Image
Image
Image
from some angels the wings look horribly off, but I attached them as parallel as possible.
Image
Image
the brass cross was made years ago for a work project. I scavenged a handful of them when our shop closed down.
Image

Image
over all I think they work as background, and I kind of like how different they appear. i'm thinking of a cemetery dio at some point and these will go in it. i'm not sure if I will spray them with matt or gloss clear. maybe matte on the angel and gloss on the other to look like marble

I think the bigger body works for Frank.

I used a Clone Wars Chewbacca when I tackled the character for a skinnier look, but ended up doing a lot of nodding and sculpting to keep standard Joe articulation.

that's awesome DOTD ! no idea you already had made him. I love your head sculpt it gives me a lot of points of reference to work on mine. your frank is wearing the shoes on my Donnie figure. my frank is huge compared his feet are off a 5" tmnt footsoldier.

after making my ratfink for ramjet I found some "zipper pulls?" on ebay that looked promising for our scale. I think they were 2 for $5 or maybe $7. I don't usually spend that much for just a head, but I did. they arrived and into a bin they went. later on I got a huge lot with 2 older lotr figures that looked like they would work, and into the bin. tonight with some downtime on another project I was sorting parts (seems never ending) and decided to see if part a and b would jive.

i'm really happy with this! I used the figures neck since it already had the angle I wanted. a couple cuts had to snip some off the figure for the head to clear. I pinned the head on for now with push pins. only other thing was I drilled a hole for his tail which is half an animal planet snake.

here with my other lotr guy

and with a destro for scale

i'll add that the base figures are loose and bad at posing. their articulation is crude and barley better than 5poa. i'll probably glue several joints so it will be sturdier if I can't tighten them up somehow.

I love this! I might suggest either painting the body to match the head more, or the other way around. As for the loose joints, I'm sure you've heard of applying a dab of glue to them and working in into the joints to tighten them up?

Any plans to build a "fink-mobile" for him? Hopefully something with the gear shift sticking way up in the air?

thanks dropshipbob! I do plan on some painting and maybe sculpting to blend the two. I see lots of ratfink toys on ebay on supped up skateboards, and that would be the easiest. I need to see how he would sit on one of those dollar tree choppers since I have a few. stumbling on the right size cartoon drag car could really be fun though.

I wonder if one of the Soldier Force or PTE buggies might work as a base. Then all you'd need is a giant engine and exhaust pipes.
