The pic of wizard in chair w/wine is the most real posing yet!

The wood is much realer and more ethereal at the same time.

I need that Male chicken. I phrase it such to not be sig quoted...really I need one right now!

What's quotable about rooste....oh I get it.

Which wood parts are you referring to? Floor? Bench? That main bench I'm especially proud of the paint job. It was a solid bright cherry red, and I aged it and added grain all just with acrylics.

If you mean the logs in the fireplace, well, those are actual broken up twigs ;)

Yeah, I realized this while in the car earlier. doh!

and thanks. The eery effect is a happy accident of the way light hit the backdrop. Also a few real branches in there too

Probably won’t find much unexpected from me. Tolkien was formative to my youth, and so will always be my favorite. Reading The Hobbit with my youngest at bed time. Older boy read it and started Fellowship but kind of stalled out. Pretty sure I was in 5th grade when I finished the trilogy and 6th when I first saw a paperback of the Silmarillion. Read it then. Understood very little and remembered even less. Tried again as an adult and found it to be amazing.

Conan books and comics have been interspersed throughout, and even now have an anthology of the original stories on my nightstand.

Was reading Game of Thrones before it was cool to know about any of that stuff. Tv series ruined it for a lot of people but books still way better.

A hidden gem of a series - at least it was to me and I’ve never heard anyone else I know discuss it - the Pendragon Cycle, a unique style of Arthurian story by Stephen Lawhead. Links the origins of the legend back to a thriving Atlantis. In one way delightful in how long (Several books) it takes to get to the stuff you expect. Could call it drawn out, but I loved it.

There’s more. Let me sleep on it.

You sir are the definition of a Renaissance Nerd. From inspiration to concept to customizing to diorama building to photography to world building, you do it all so damn well.

I like how difference in lighting can make this new configuration appear to be morning or twilight. Also, new dwarf.

Compare the vibe from this shot compared to the Ranger Blackthorne From prior posts.

Thank you sirs

@tooty... er.. 2D...
I’d wager Cap to be the one who made his own arrows

On that Golden Compass torso for the Dwarf. Two thoughts. 1st, with just a little trimming for width and some heat, one of the dwarves waists from The Hobbit line popped right in.

2nd, it took some work but I was able to carve a workable shoulder disk out of the static/swivel only golden compass arm, so that the peg fit perfect while adding articulation. First time I’d done that.
