Well thanks.

Thank you viper for posting this so I could learn where the heck to get predators.

I think the weathering's a bit of a must simply because the Yautja aren't exactly a clean species. Everything they wear and use is all grimy and sticky with blood and other fluids.

So when's somebody gonna have a Pred kill a Viper of some sort and steal his armor? SAW-Pred, anyone?

Ya know AV that's a pretty good idea.

Ooo, Astro-Pred! COBRA's illegal spy satellites detect a drifting alien spacecraft and they send a team of Astros and TARGATS to investigate, and the Preds rip them all new arseholes when they're taken out of stasis and come back in all kinds of keen space COBRA gear. Woot!

The only problem is that an in scale Predator from the movies would be way too big to wear the gear. They're like 8 feet tall and 500+ pounds. They make Arnold look like a short, scrawny guy.

I like the figure Dave, it looks great! Maybe this guy is a juvenile or a runt. But a whole bunch of Preds in human sized clothing just wouldn't work for me.

Based on 3 or 4 examples. Like you say, there's nothing to say that *every*single* Predator is that size. I've no problem with my squad of MM Preds being teenager's on a 'camping trip' with a couple of HT Preds being their ScoutMasters.

Umm, just so I'm getting the terminology right, when we say "weathering" we're talking dry-brushing & washes, right? What colors would you recommend using?

Very cool Idea...I've been pondering a very similar idea...but it's not quite as aggressive as a Predator.

I agree with AV and the others that some Weathering is needed on the armor and stuffs....start with some black and silver for scortch marks and dammage to the armor. Add brown, green, and yellow to grime up the armor till it's as dirty as the rest of the figure is.... I think paint wipes more than dry brushing will give you the effect you're after.

I've been pondering it since I saw this custom while I was at work...would/Could a pred end up as a Jedi?...I'd think their nature would naturaly lead them down the path of the Dark Side...Now that'd give you one heck of a Darth Maul...Red and Black tattoed Pred...with Lightsaber Claw blades...you know that'd be sweet tits.

Lightsaber Claw Blades? 8-O.....Sorry my head just overloaded due to the amount of awesomeness in that idea.

Assuming that he A) Was raised completely away from the other Yautja or B) Made a concius decision to abandon their lifestyle and embrace the light side of the force I see no reason why a Predator couldn't become a Jedi.

They are sentient creatures and as such aren't inherently "good" or "evil". Sure he could become a Jedi.

3. He'd also have to have his artificial hormone regulators to keep his "kill gland" in check. Otherwise, I think he might fall to the Dark Side just trying to deal with Yoda's English...

Zomg! Somebody do it! I'd be all up in this "LASER BLAST" if I had any spare Preds or a way to make clear blades.

Try shaping some clear red plexi. John works with plexi alot, maybe he has some pointers.
