Update to the Snake Eyes & Stalker commission.

It'll be a celshade commission like this one that I did before:

ok.. WOW! can you talk some about what you use to create with. i was thinking you sketched with a pen and paper, but that color piece looks like refined digital art.

Yes, the Dreadnok one is done with Photoshop. I can do also traditional, that's we're I started but getting the colors right after scanning, as well as, scanning a big painting with a small scanner can be a pain.
Done with acrylics.

If I'm commissioned to do a sketch, I make a digital rough sketch like this:

Then I'll flip it horizontally, print in black and with a lightbox, I sketch on the other side to get this:

When I get to do a colored piece, I make these 1"x1.5" thumbnail studies for commissioners to choose from:

Then make a clean-up version of that, show it to the commisioner and if everything's ok. I proceed to inks and color it with Photoshop.

thanks! really great to see how you make your art. you captured all the joe stuff perfectly. i made a light box in high school ,but mostly to save a doodle i liked from a page of stuff i didn't.

Digital rough sketch for a sketch commission.

For those interested, I'm currently troop building Retaliation Budo, Renegades Ripcord / Cobra Trooper and Retro Roadblock.
If you got any complete figs of them lying around, we can trade art for toys. :-D

Also, as I was sketching this, I kinda jones'd myself to get Retro Lady Jaye. Good thing after several Youtube reviews the awful face paint brought me back to my senses.

the glasses took some sweetness from her eyes. she looks much more the classic baroness. could you see how darkening the glasses looks?

great job on the aug! that's a tough one to draw, and you chose the hardest angle. really showcases a master of perspective.
