YES! We must see the figures. I am especially interested in seeing the person who is pulling an arrow kneeling, being an archer myself.

I'll add some pics of the custom ones later tonight, in the post. Some of them were very, very lbc and do not warrant spotlights (Here you go yoda, take this axe and instant goblin). A lot of the former SW figs just had thier tech confiscated and replaced with appropriate weapons. One of them is a stolen recipie off the archives.

That is pure beauty DarkWynter. I love the characters you set up for the multiverse/D&D. So right up my alley.

This, made my day complete, believe me.

You are soo added to my list of JC'ers in my "If I hit Lotto what creative things we'll accomplish.." wish list.

Awesome.

:embarassed: Comming from you, that is high marks indeed. I actually took notes from a lot of your work for this, especially the Shannarra dio's you made for Doc. All the little bits that add to make the whole in your work I tried to duplicate on this. The sculpey chests, bags, and scrolls were taken directly from seeing them in your dio just to mention a few.

Wow, and thank you.

You captured exactly what I have been moaning about, both public and privately, about the viability of a true 3 3/4 set of fantasy or D&D related figures, when used in a great diorama setting.

I have combed fantasy figures going on now for over two decades. I have to tell you honestly it has been more frustrating than the dissapointment some feel over fan related figures. There have been fantasy figures since the seventies, but they were always hit or miss when it came to style, scale, color(think green army men, but fantasy related by a company called Dimensions for Children), etc.
When I got wind that there would be EverQuest figures made, I had hoped that the scale would have either been 1:18, or at least 1:24, closer to "army man size" for respects of using the great international castle and playset production, such as the many castles by Simba and by Hing Fat. But sadly the were 6" to some near 10".

We got close with Lord of the Rings, Armies of Middle Earth, but the canon of the story limited what figures there would be, and Tolkien works is kind of horribly devoid of many diverse ranges and strong female characters. The lines are fairly distinct. Chap Mei made a noble attempt, but the lines are kind of blurred when you have a fantasy figure toting a sword and six guns.

When I think of the applications of my desire for a line, it is in exactly what you produced that I see. Figures such as yours can have unlimited adventures when you note that you can add McFarlane Dragons, some of the larger D&D Epic miniatures, international castle playsets, and even the use of the large insects and animals from the totally unrealted nature series(such as the hybrids Doc Rob creates).
It is still my hope that one day I can find the right pitch, or have my prospectus seen by the right person, who will think it viable as well.

But you captured it exactly as I see it in my mind, from the graveyard, to the subterranean environs.
Kudos!

With a heavy heart friends gather to say farewell to a friend and companion.......

A few of the mysterious heroes have gathered to pay respects. This is both an honor and a ominous sign of trouble ahead. (StormBringer's Knights are akin to the Harpers)
Image
The elf is a moon elf, a race my brother may have created just for the game. His name is Lor(Lore), and has grown to be a powerfull enchanter and diviner. He is the mystic muscle and eyes of StormBringer's Knights. His fate was irreprably altered when he meet Sir Tim.

The Knight is Sir Timothy StormBringer, a very grim Palidin. I was handed a random character printout for a gaming sesion, and instantly saw "Palidin" and thought "O.K., a goody-two-shoe, no big deal" then saw he was the very contradiction of a palidin, he was given a class kit of spy, had a short temper, specialized in knives....I was imediately drawn to this character. In time Sir Tim and had gained legendary status in my gaming circles and some of still debate who is a bigger bad@$$ Sir Tim or Drizzit........

The apprentice/squire is Motubo, another character that gained legendary status, by being drawn into adventures with Lor and Sir Tim.

On a construction note, all I had to do is file down the gun handle to make a narrow pouch that is perfect for holding wands, maps, thieves pick, ect. then swap the head. I love these guys, so if anyone has a stockpile, send em my way. :)

These Ladies were made by mine. The Archer is a half-elven ranger that my wife played and chose the parts. She did the mods as well. She however avidly detests painting, so I helped her out there. (She also made most of the tombstones, once I showed her what I wanted, but once again abandoned the project when the brushes came out) If the figure looks a little less than MOC, it's because she is. She is about two years old and has been played with heavily by my daughter. She just recieved a weapons upgrade thanks to the 25th SS and I added the middle three fingers to the gloves for the photo-op (something I had always intended to do, but never got around to it. Cap will understand the minor tweak in the gloves.

SilverWynter actually chose the parts for the rouge, and the paint sceme, which I actually just finished painting for her thanks to the photo-op prompting. This was a fairly easy LBC, but I really like it and am very proud of SilverWynters growing skills.

The others were showcased elsewhere or just figures that were renamed to be used in our D&D universe.

The figures emerge from the shadows to celebrate. They do not rejoice in the fact an enemy has fallen, but rather gather to welcome thier new ally that will soon rise up and join thier ranks...........

Toog is a thing repaint that is actually a good guy. In my game he is a Half/Merrow (aquatic Ogre) that is a bit of a hero pirate. Just don't ask him about his lineage, as he may be inclined to explain it. I use the figure for various purposes that it fits: gargoyles, stone guardians, golems, ect.

Kage is a straight up stolen recipie from http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... 31&id=4732 by Iwbeta. Just my take on it. He is a half orc, who is niether good or bad, but a pure mercenary.

On a side note, some of the yoda molds really look creepy when you slap an axe on them. And the Jawas so, remind me of the reanimated midgets from phantasm, they were easy crossover figures.

That's just fantastic work. I love playsets! Especially well thought out and cool ones with action features that benefit the playset rather than hinder it.
Just awesome.

You know what I'd like to see? A "walkthrough" in pics, with descriptive captions. That would rock. :-D

Liking the figures as well. Can't believe more people haven't used the Chap Mei knights in customs the sculpts are mindblowing.

Made a handfull of fantasy customs myself not so long ago - can't remember if I posted them or not. :-/

This was so worth the wait. The Jawas reminded me of Phantasm too.
Pity there were no Chap Mei knights in my neck of the woods.
Some of you guys get all the best stuff  .

Cant even begin to explain how much I love this...

A former gamer, a customizer and would be dio maker. You do make me envious. That is an awsome scene.

Kudos for all the work and attention that went into it.
