You just made me rethink my favorite custom vehicles ever. Top 3 for sure. Saying "great job" doesn't even cut it. This is one of the vehicles that all others shall be judged by.

That is absolutely amazing. What's the scale like? Is it true 1:18 or Joe-scale? Could we see pics of it next to some Joe aircraft?

I don't normally follow threads especially long ones, but I am glad to see this come to fruition. Nice job sir. I aggree that there should be more outstanding large projects like this, and that customs like this should be the standard bar. Even taking it on impressed me, completing it, well its just dam cool.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to the forum this weekend. More photos coming.

Basic Figure Recipe:
Head: String is a re-worked Mego ST:TMP Kirk; Dom is a reworked M*A*S*H Hawkeye
Chest and Hips: Mego C.H.i.P.S.
Arms: resin cast of old Luke X-Wing pilot arms
Hands: String is modified resin cast of Depth Charge hands. Dom's left is DC, but his right is a resin cast of a Kenner Lone Ranger hand.
Upper legs: Corps!
Lower legs: Corps! with resin cast of a Joe boot I modded for a pattern.

Don't have pictures showing it yet, but String's helmet has a visor. Right now it just inserts into the helmet, but in the near future I plan to hinge it so it slides up and down. Dom's also got a Santini Air hat that needs a decal and some Dullcote.

^&*#^!-ing Internet explorer! Keeps telling me "Cannot display the webpage" while I'm trying to upload pics. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix that?

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. This was a big project, and sometimes I thought I'd never get it finished. Your responses reward the effort.

As requested, for size comparison here's Airwolf next to a PTE Blackhawk. Yeah, I know it only has three blades. Number four is in storage somewhere. I originally bought it to convert to Airwolf, but decided not to based on the size discrepancy. I've also included a shot of the Lady next to that other helicopter.

Those comparison shots next to the Blackhawk and Blue Thunder just show how magnificent your custom really is. You've built a true 1:18 scale model of Airwolf from scratch that looks better than production quality.

Now if only you would build a 1:18 scale replica of Street Hawk, my 80's action show dreams would be fufilled!

Not that you would, but if you placed that masterpiece on eBay I'd be shocked if it didn't sell for hundreds, maybe even thousands.
