Speaking of the red dress version, she will be on her way as soon as I fire up the airbrush and the compressor.
I was really perplexed as to how to pull it off. I saved the actual dress from the larger figure, but decided to not use it because well, it's a bear to work with that PVC/rubber.
Then I canvassed all of my existing parts on how to pull it off. As I said, even though I am a full time artisan, I really do hate painting.
The problems were the legs, and the shoes. The dress really only works with some sort of heel. The Mrs. gave me one of her Wow Girls, but the legs of the skater were just well, too spindly. I decided to use those for Ashley Graham, the president's daughter. Now, I could have made her with the same look she had in RE2, with a short red dress, black leggins, and Gung-Fu shoes. But then I caught sight of my comic pack Scarlett.
Boom! Epiphany. I dug out the Dremel, and removed all traces of the pouches, pockets, and knife. Ground down, then fine sanded to make the legs smooth, and hopefully, believable. I like the proportions, as the hips and calf structure really complement the dress skirt and having the heeled shoes already sculpted on saved me added stress.
But what about the arms? Ada in the dress is wearing sleevless. Since her head is already made, I wanted to match the skintone without too much needing to paint. I sat, looked at the pile of fodder, and saw the comic pack Zarana. I held up her arms to my Ada painted head.....they'll do. So I took the Dremel to Zarana's arms and painstakingly removed her bracers, her details, and what I was left with were a pair of great, feminine, bare arms.
I saved the neck choker from the larger figure, so when I place on the new head, it will have the same jewel in the back of the neck with the ribbons dangling.
Next dilemma was what to do about her sidearm. She has a very unique assembly where she can holster two sidearms, one her 9mm, and the other, a grappling gun. I thought to use the assembly from her original figure, but it just didn't look right. Then I remembered, that comic pack Zartan never let me down when it came to fodder, so I found a better use for his thighpad. I pin drilled a small hole to anchor the thighpad to Ada's right hip. Then Locktite gel'd the thighpad onto the side of her now dry thigh piece, since I prewash all to-be-primed pieces in soapy water, and then disassembled the whole thing so the primer can hit every corner.
When the primer is done, I will airbrush her legs with the same flesh acrylic FW ink that I used for her head. The shoes are the easiest, for I just have to make a pair of strapped heels in black.
The rest of her dress, I can thank Chad and Matt for, since we did some trading for those mountain forger Arashikage girls long ago. I will pick the best of the dresses with the designs, and the same for the skirt piece. I test fitted the Zarana newly Dremeled arms, and they're perfect. Only thing left to do is acquire her accessories such as crossbow, TMP, and find a nice strong preferably nylon string for her grappling hook.
Oh! For the waist, I decided to keep the Scarlett waist, but 86'd via the Dremel the belt, belt loops, and slingshot. Decided to keep the panties flat black(primer) in homage to Steve Miller.
