thanks tim! i have made some progress on him. i switched his armor but decided the green one shown here is really best. i'd still love some feedback on the 3 eyes placement. i read that different media gives them unique features like seeing 3 ways at once vs. them rotating into place.

i still am not happy with he man in pics. i might have to go soft goods loin cloth instead of his furry britches. maybe some work on his hair too. prince adam is almost done and just needs a holster and paint.

Image
i'm liking the resculpt on fakers legs, but the back detail is too much
Image

beastman is coming along
Image

new armor for fisto . wired and tied in back.
ImageImage

maa armor is getting there. it isn't removeable anymore though.
Image
i was able to keep good head articulation
Image
and better waist articulation than my he man
Image
i'm not happy with his helmet, and not sure if i can save it or start over, again.
Image
Image
Image

here is my orko and dark orko
Image
and with the dollar tree micro orko. i opened him and cut off his base before i thought to get a pic.
Image

i put gizmo in one of the dollar tree bug catching tubes in my cobra la lab. then i put fizgig in one and thought i'd like to fill all 4 of them i have with 80's fun. a micro slimer on a litebrite peg and the new orko completes the set. i'm thinking these will be in my eventual lab dio.

i started a batman when i snagged a batmobile on ebay. i really want to bring him more into line with 89 batman, but i'm digging him. the belt and gauntlets are from an 89 style figure gifted to me by drbindy. i had that body as a knight, then a dragon rider, now chopped up for batman! since this pic i added a different set of boots in this same style but from a cc instead of cg. the knees swapped in from a dg cc. robin isn't in 89 batman so i'm taking a lot of liberties with him. i see a lot of versions and then alternate characters so going for a teen or young man instead of boy wonder. since these pics i have swapped his forearms and added a belt.

i have lots of motu update pics. i'll try to keep them all in order, but there is overlap with characters.

first here are my sculpted on he-man and prince adam heads with some paint. i think they are better than my first few sculpt/grinds, but at some angles (up from bellow or one side etc.) they can look derpy.
Image
Image
ImageImage

he-man is coming along. inspired by chiefs marvel based figure. this is my 3rd attempt at his harness made from 1:6 sw straps a nail/brad and sculpt. my first try at a skirt/belt combo made from a batman belt and 1:6 cloth apron. i just haven't been able to sculpt fur britches on this base figure.
this is a great angle slightly looking down
Image
this one not so much
Image
he-man with prince adam using the same marvel head
Image
looking slightly down
Image
multiple angles
Image
ImageImage
he-man beside skeletor
Image
Image
and a shot of prince adam by his seif
Image

now here is he-man with an alt head .i tried to sculpt it in the style of the og he-man action figure. the soft rumbler sculpt reminds me of the animated version.
ImageImage
and with prince adams alt. head using a rumbler as well.
Image
prince valium?
Image
Image

another alt. prince adam head as his father the king. his crowm is made from a very delicate (bead cup?) from some costume jewelry. it took 3 attempts to cut out the center of one and keep it intact. then i had to slip it on a mandrel and carefully round it out. i ground a "ring" around his hair to place the crown and will need to fill in some sculpt.
Image
Image

next up is evil lyn. a bash of junk parts came together with the star trek reaction head. the boots are from a gene simmons ornament i used years ago!Image
i wanted to get her tall enough to look good with skelly.
Image
Image

lastly i did some work on tri clops. the base figure (same as he man) was beat on/tore up before i started motu. i had a screw driven into it for a neck, but wanted it to look a little better. i sculpted over the screw and added a crimp on sleeve (wire terminal connectors) as a "neck ball". i also fitted and sculpted on his armor.
Image
Image
i popped out the resin eyes i had made and repainted them. this time no "white" and i made sure the uv resin had a nice orb shape.Image
close ups of his 3 eyes. i also moved the 2 side eyes back some and filled the old holes with pins. i'm going with "his eyes don't rotate rather he can see in a large almost 360 field of view".
Image
Image
Image

that's it for now. i'd love to hear your thoughts thanks for looking.

i appreciate it :) motu has been a long drawn out project for me. it is my favorite part to find parts and cut things up. i'm trying to get all of the details squared away before paint.
