I joined the site to be a part of the latest
Group Project, but I joined a little too late, and I wasn't able to finish in time. But I still wanted to finish what I started and show it here.
I originally started 2 customs, but when it was looking grim, I stopped on the second and tried to rush and finish the first one I started. When the time had already passed and I knew I wasn't going to make it, I tried to spruce him up a little more and gave him a custom weapon and belt, and then kept it going with a custom stand. I didn't quite finish the whole stand and rather than keep drawing it out, I said the heck with it, and thought I'd just post what I have right now.
Crimson Guard:
Body-25th comic pack CG
Arms, hands & coat-Indy German w/bike
Belt-Star Wars Clone(the camo biker scout)
Belt tank-25th Dreadnok form comic pack's backpack(I forget who's who) with hook up made from misc gun parts
Stand-Danger Girl stand & 25th Cobra Stand with sculpted rocks, train diorama sand, dirt and turf
"Gun"-Star Wars rifle with knife added, tanks from GI Joe paintballs and tubes from packaging twists with wire taken out.

In person the lower jacket looks nice and blends well with the upper body, I think the flash makes it look off, maybe I need to hit it with another coat of dull coat. I also didn't like how the backpack was hollow looking, sticking out over his shoulders, so I traced over it on a piece pf packaging bubble and then cut, sanded and trimmed it to fit and then painted it and it looks 100% better even if it's only barely noticeable, it just bothered me(maybe that's why I didn't finish it in time

).

here's a view without the gun, I took another one of the back without the pack, but it was too blurry.

Here's the best I could get with the weapon and the stand, I couldn't zoom in too much, but I think it's pretty good enough to see the detail. The knife on the front was kind of a last min idea to make it look a little more like the original gun, and the gold was too to break up the silver, but I'm glad I did, I think it looks way better.
All in all, I'm pretty happy with him, I have another set of figures to make another one to pilot the SNAKE I was going to try to make with the Iron Monger V2 figure. I think I'll take more time with the next one, take him all the way apart, sand down his joints and try to make him as movable as possible. Maybe I'll just say screw it and sculpt over the joints and make little statues, after all, that's what I'm used to in the past, painting RPG miniatures, but we'll see.
Have at it, I just started Critiquing and thought I'd hold off on critiquing the rest of the group project till I posted my figure, so now, I can go back to finishing that, let me know what you think, if there's something don't like, something you'd improve on, or whatever, any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
