This filecard is a part of the project that he's doing. I'm doing some background stuff for him. Any opinions on this (especially from him) would be appreciated.

Cool, seems like a precursor to the Renegades.

Sort of, but this group will be half Government, half private contractor. They are professionals in a legal and ethical grey area, not rehabilitated soldiers with personality disorders. ;-)

I would expect that like any combat unit, there would be some play on the name. The choppers might be called "bird dawgs" and the headquarters might be the "dawg pound". I think that there's a lot of open ground there to cover as far as expanding on the idea.

M.A.N.G.Y. D.A.W.G.

or

M.A.D. D.A.W.G.

or

D.A.W.G. Catcher (the personnel retrieval vehicle, ie-boat, plane, APC)

or

D.A.W.G. Collar

If no codenames picked yet, then:

Mad Dog (the mean one)

Dogleg (the golf enthusiast)

Barker (take-charge orders guy)

Fleabag (the scruffy-looking one)

Spike (gotta have one named Spike-maybe the knife guy)

Fifi (the petite female)

Mr. Boopsie (the hen-pecked explosives guy)

Bones (ex-SEAL)

Collar (ex-Cop/PI/Bounty Hunter)

No man, Fifi ain't a female, Fifi is the big muscle guy. [LASER BLAST] is the female.

I like this idea. Sorta like black-ops but without the red tape.

If it is possible for a guy to be "a-flutter" with anticipation, that would be me! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the individual figure's backgrounds! (Let me know if you need better pictures of the figures)

....yeah, I said "a-flutter", wanna make something of it?! :shifty:

Ah yes... the slippery ethical slope of clandestine operations... when the terrorists sneak around that's criminal but when we do it's national security.

Isn't this why the CIA have their National Clandestine Service (formerly the Directorate of Operations)?

Is it cause nobody likes the CIA? or the natural US interagency rivalry that spawns redundant organisations? ;-)

I'm just messing with ya... neat concept... still, I hope these guys are trained in resistance to interrogation and have a good pension plan and death benefits...

Or blue notes, yellow streaks, green envy, or purple horseshoes...:D

I agree with you on the name switches.

Fifi is the muscle guy, he's got an attitude because the others call him that. It's actually like Sci-Fi (Science-Fiction), only he's a writer too. He writes in the Fiction-Fiction category that is all made up.

[LASER BLAST] has an attitude because she doesn't like her codename. It's what the others call her behind her back.

The only other 'names' I can think of are:
Devil Dawg (the commando guy)
Dawgpile (ex-linebacker/offensive lineman)
Goldie (the information retrieval guy or girl)
Springer (the recon/light infantry guy)
PAWS (modified BAT) [the Portable Android Weapons]
Kennel (Liaison for the DAWGs)
Bulldawg (tough and ornery guy)
Dawgface (Infantryman guy)
Chilidawg (Cold Weather Ops guy)
Hotdawg (the team showboat)

Mongrel (henchman for bad guys)

As a government worker, I have to say that no one *means* to have ineffective government agencies, but the ideas of transperency and accountability judged by civilians makes it very difficult to do some things that many would argue need to be done.

Lately I've had dreams of being part of an effective government organization. Sadly they're only dreams...

The difference between this group and the "civilian contractors" that are the new cool vilian in modern military drama, is that this is a very ethical organization. They do bad things, but only after a lot of consideration of the concequences.

One of the members of the group once put a knife through his own hand while torturing someone, because "thinks like this aren't supposed to be easy." If you've been reading GI Joe unclassified, you know who this is, and can guess the ethical direction of the group.

At least on our continent, :)

Though I hear Cobra Island is fairly straight forward, :)

Cool concept, any chance for a celebrity chase fig, named snoop?
