Since my projects really won't be dio's and more of just the custom environments, I am placing them here.

This is my first attempt at ...well alot of things. Any kind of Modeling...throw me some pointers and such fellas!

This is my Cobra Throne room.

Made with Foam board. A floor and 2 walls.

I made the textures for the wall and floor from Photoshop, as well as the TV monitor (glued on another piece of foam board (velcro'd to the wall in case I want to replace it later). It has the Terror Drome, Destro reporting in , and breaking news story labeled "Cobra Attacks". I plan to make that TV image part of many monitors though out my creations, so it seems like this story is breaking on all news channels (Joe and Cobra)

There is a small mirror piece behind the throne and I cut and made the fabric and red walk way.

I could not find a Cobra throne or anything that suited me, so with a coat hanger and oven bake clay I shaped this one by hand. Never worked with clay before not even in school...worked out pretty well

While its not that good...its a heck of alot better than I thought it would be when I started (and really only decent after the paint job).

Here is a bright and a dark picture for you guys to tell me what you think so far, for a guys first shot at these things.

This is just so you can see more detail in the clay sculture

I had some red craft beads that I was going to glue in the sockets...but the were to round and not quite scary once I tried to place them in...so for now I will pretend there is some kind of defensive poison that shots from them :P

I am still contemplating painting the snakes on the arms of the throne as well as the scales on the neck and inner hood. I am afraid it will bring out more imperfections than accent...but I can always re-spray paint it :)

I can provide more detailed pics of any of these parts if you like. Also if you see any textures in my works that you like (here on in the future) I will happy share. (they are all 8 1/2 X 11 so they can be printed on a single sheet of paper). They are high rez and meant to be printed on borderless photo paper, but still look good on plain jane white stock paper.

My next project is a bit more ambitious as I am going to try and recreate Mindbenders lab from the Serpentor origin comics. I should have progress pics in the next couple of days.

I think you did an awesome job on this :D

CC looks a little bored, though - chillin' watching TV. I'd give him a bag of Doritos or something to round-out the effect :P

Very cool!

HAHA thanks.

Now how to pull off doritos?!

I just got my version of Cobra Commaner with the shoulder cape and snake staff today. He with his red ninja and commoners will get photos soon tonight :)

I also plan to.... once my acrylic tiles show up ....place some kind of see-through tactical display off to one side facing him.

Thanks Again.

Dude, that throne pwns...I however have no talent when it comes to sculpture...I can draw, I can paint, however I can type faster than anyone I know and yet I cannot sculpt.

I gotta hand it to you, there's not much that needs changed, though Chief is right about the bag of Fritos and you may as well give him a six pack..with CC's working class mentality (supposed) he ought to have a six pack of Busch Lite...

Seriously man, awesome work, don't change a thing.

Ain't a dang thing wrong with any of this at all. You may want to repaint the snake gray with a black wash to make it look like sculpted granite or something; but that's not a 'Have To' kinda thing. Close it in with the other two walls with an entrance way and an escape tunnel behind the throne, and you're rockin'!

I almost did the escape tunnel and then messed up by glueing the platform down so close to the wall...

Is "black wash" pretty thin paint?

Its hard to see in the photos but there is a fine texture applied to the snake head, snake on the rails of the throne and such....really only reason i haven't tried to totally detail it more...

This turned out really well. No critiques from me.

Depending how your photoshop skills are, I'd love to see a copy of "World Domination For Dummies" or "An Idiot's Guide to Global Subjegation" poking out from under one of his legs (like he was reading it and got interrupted and tried to hide it...)

And definitiely a bag of Doritos. (or a serving tray with Ho-Hos) Gives Cobra Commander that 'I try to act like I know it all and refined, but I actually just want some chips...' vibe.

haha yeah I could do that!

In most of my stuff (well stuff to come), there is a respect for CC that he doesn't deserve :P He is the real Corba leader always.

The only critique I can really offer is not to mix your media on the viewscreen. You have 2 "live action" pics (Terrordrome and newscaster) and an animated picture (Destro) in the same local space. This throws off the "believability" of the scene. You should go all in one direction, either all animated or all live action. I know it'll be hard getting a live action pic of Destro (though it could be done with well lit pic of a figure like you did with the TD), but I think having all 3 screens using the same media will greatly improve the look of finished project.
