First up is Crazylegs. For this one, I tried to make an olive drab mixture that looked like it could be bare Hasbro plastic. Not sure if I succeeded there or not.

Awesome stuff. Always great to see new o-ring customs. The paint on Crazylegs looks good to me, so I'd say you succeeded.

Yeah, the finish/sheen on Crazy Legs looks perfect, nice work.

Thanks much, guys!

Here's another pic that has Timber in it. And a few minor customs that don't deserve a special mention of their own.

These all look great, but Torpedo and especially Crazylegs really stand out. The paint job on Crazylegs is exactly what you were going for, and it's really impressive. Beautiful work.

Thanks for the kind words, sgartz.

As strange as it sounds, that olive drab mixture ended up being 50% gloss orange (tamiya), 25% gloss green (cheap craft store acrylic), and just 25% olive drab (tamiya). Not sure how I stumbled onto that, but apparently it worked.

Thanks for that recipe! I would not have expected that to yield such a perfect recreation of the Hasbro plastic look, either, but it really, really does. I've looked back at those photos several times now, and it just gets more and more impressive how closely it matches the look of factory plastic.

Here's my version of a standard Cobra trooper. These guys would replace most kinds of Vipers and report directly to the Crimson Guard. My attempt at making Cobra soldiers look a little more like they all belong to the same organization.

You've definitely captured the factory paint look perfectly. I prefer the Viper with a unique helmet, but I love your Crazylegs and Wetsuit.

The Grape-Soda Viper. In a world where Cobra has a different Viper for every purpose under the sun, these guys would guard the shipments of grape-soda and chocolate-covered doughnuts that Cobra uses to pay the Dreadnoks.

Thanks! Yeah, sometimes I feel the same way. That’s the real reason I made the Grape-Soda Viper; so I could have a nicely painted Viper helmet I could swap in for my version of the classic Viper.
