Okay, it's not MUCH of a custom, but I had a bit of fun with it. Comments on it and the file card/backstory are certainly welcome.

Hey, great to see some new work from you, man! Those look neat. I like the writeup.

Did you see the Superman-robot coming out from DC Direct based on the new Death of Superman DTV? It's about 4 1/2" tall, I could see you making some kind of BAT out of it.

I thought Mattel was handling the toys from that.

4-1/2" is pushing the size envelope a bit for me, and the animation style is a stretch, too, but I'd need to see them. I'm not putting down the movie or the toys, by the way. I'm looking forward to that DVD.

I DO have an idea in the back of my head for a B.A.T. v.8, but I need to save up a bit of $$$ for what I need to carry it out.

Check it out:

Lex and Superbot

It comes with an animated Lex, but it's not too stylized itself. Since it's a bot, I thought it would work well as some kind of BAT.

I'm not sure who between Lex and the 'bot is 4.25" and who is 4.3", but that's not too tall as far as robots go I don't think.

Did you repaint anything on em or did you just stick labels on em and call it a day?

Hmmm, interesting. A little simplistic in design and if that "S" shield is sculpted in, it could be a bit of a pain to work with, but not bad. In theory, a Cobra symbol could fit in the same space as the "S". I'd want to know what its articulation is. Not sure if I'll do anything, but it's certainly plausible.

I still thought Mattel was doing figures, though. Weird. Maybe they both are.

Well, I liked the existing colors, including the Cobra blue trim, so it was really just the labels, although I had to remove their REV's insignia first since it was slightly larger than the label. But if it helps, I still had to design and print the labels and cut them out, and at that small size, it wasn't easy. :-D

And of course I came up with the whole backstory.
