25th Rock Viper

The 25th figures have been a great medium for me to start working Cobra figures again. Normally, I create my own characters, but I've been having fun "reimagining" some of my favorite specialty Vipers.
Rock Viper was pretty close to the top of the list.
I'm a little light on climbing gear in my fodder bin, so I didnt have all the gear I would have liked to have given him, but this works, I think.

WOW! If I saw him climbing up after me I would poop all over his head I would be so scared.
So I gues it's a good thing he's got that wicked cool skull helmet.

I'm confused by the head on this one...Really seems out of place...more like a conan/fantasy head than any helmet a viper would use.

I'm not sold on the green base of the uniform...I really seems to clash with the burnt red of the straps and pouches....and I'm not so sure it'd fit in and work while the Rock Viper is stuck on a sheer Rock face....I think he'd look better with a tan base...somhting a little more desert looking...maybe even a bit of grey like a granite.

beyond that...solid work...It's been nice looking at your customs again after I'd sworn off all your seals.

Yeah, I gotta agree with nova here, that while this is (sigh, yet again) very nice work; a couple choices just don't seem to follow when one looks at the v1 RockViper. This helmet would work very [LASER BLAST]'ly as a RangeViper, and the green would make him a huge target climbing a mountain, imho. The green would also work better for a 'ranger' Viper better as well and get rid of the weird blue color scheme of the v1 fig that never made sense to me anyway. I think what's needed here is to simply rename this as a RangeViper and take another stab at a RockViper once you can gather more gear for him.

Huh. I didnt think about using this for a Range Viper, which I do plan on doing at some point.

But, nope, he's gonna stay my Rock Viper cause I like him.

I think this is another example of your amazing work. I like the green and brown. As I mountain climber myself I can say a lot of mountains have green foliage and such on them. He might stick out on the Rockies but he'd also stick out in South America if he were only in tan. I could see this as one color of the uniform. I do like the helmet, although on a RV it would be sick, but I can see it here and dig its use.

Right and the V2 was really a reworked Range Viper so really it works perfectly.

This custom is really cool, but I would have to suggest something different than a face for him being a viper. Might be better using the Cobra Trooper head with the mask.

Or you could do what I though of when I first saw him, Hit & Run. Just give him a helmet over the skull ;-)

Anyway, really cool looking custom even if he doesn't fit into what people think for a Rock Viper.

very well painted custom. I like the green and brick red color combo. I don't see him as a cobra character though. I think he is geared up well but I don't think the helmet fits with the look.
