Hey All,

It's been ages since I posted here, but I've been customizing a little again and thought I would post my latest. It's a Cobra Recon Bike made from a TRU dirt bike and various parts- painted with Testor's Model Masters Maritime color. The decals are courtesy of GI JOE Heaven. Criticism is welcome as are suggestions for improvement and any questions.

Wow, that is awesome! The only suggestion I might make would be to put some detail work on the engine, or perhaps just paint it black. Other than that, and it really isnt that big of a deal, it looks like something that should be produced by Hasbro! :-D

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The engine portion was originally silver and black and it did look cool, but most of the reference pictures I had of military bikes of this kind had the engine painted the same flat od green an the bike. I really struggled over wether or not to paint it and in the end I decided to just do it to make it more authentic. I do agree, though that it lacks contrast and detail as a result.

It's so simple, but so effective at the same time. It just makes sense. I'm definitely going to give this a try.

Looks great.

The terrain there is crazy good too. Was that bought that way or did you make that display as well?

Thanks! The Terrain is homemade as well. Just a piece of plie wood for a base with sand and some hobby grass and a piece of termite eaten tree from the back yard. The back drop is just ripped from an old caleneder.

I like the removeable laptop side pouch the best on thsi custom. Pretty slick for being so simple.

Ha! Thanks- i was hoping someone would notice that without me pointing it out. I really struggled over what to put in that pouch. I mean... it's a recon bike so I thought "binoculars... ammo clips... consumables..." when the laptop fit perfectly I knew that it was the way to go. Thanks for noticing!

Thanks- setting up and taking the photos is my favorite part of all this. Next to sharing them with fine folks like all of you, that is.
