So, some of the kids I was substitute teaching for got me to talking about my hobbies, and I told them about the customizing action figures thing. As they were 5th graders, this instantly made me the coolest person on earth to them, and they wanted to see some of what I was talking about. As I had a 3-day assignment with them, I brought my Kofi Arana and Darth Vespaar figs with me the next day.

And some worthless piece of dogshiat precious little snowflake of one of you people stole them both.

I've since redone my Vespaar by bashing 4-LOM onto one of the fugly Motion Revive Kamen Rider figs I have; and have gotten parts to do another Kofi. My buddy LIftoff wanted me to do the grunt work on bashing Kofi for him as I'm apparently really crappy at describing the method in emails. Perhaps this goes for some of you guys as well and so here are some pics of what I did grunting out his Kofi.

I sliced Kofi's chest apart along his molding seams. I kept his neck as one piece by cutting back where his shirt collar is, or whatever that li'l ridge is. I cracked RoadBlock's chest off and matched up his abdomen to Kofi's chest to see where I needed to dremel, then drilled out a T-shaped li'l trench to fit the plug sticking up out of RB's abdomen. You can see the Before and After here with his front and back halves.

I drilled out a nice cup shape to allow RB's upper abdomen to sink into the armor a bit.

I cut RB's arms down to little more than a double-nubbined elbow joint, and hollowed out Kofi's hindarm and forearm armor to fit the joint in there. Here's the finished right arm with the leftover RB pieces, the WIP right arm, and the unstarted left arms.

I removed the ammo pouch entirely off the screw socket piece of RB's left thigh. I hollowed out the Kofi thigh armor so they'd slide up from the bottom. I cut RB's calves so there was about 5mm of meat hanging down from the knee and trimmed it to fit into the socket I drilled into the Kofi calf; and did the similar process for the ankle joint.

I also trimmed off the skirt strips from the belt and codpiece, and added a square of red cloth I'd soaked in FrayCheck and cut into strips after gluing it to the belt. Here we see him in height comparison to both the RB and Kofi source figs, and 25A Serpentor.

Mind you, he's not painted yet. Lifty's gonna take care of that himself and will hopefully show that off afterwards. But thanks. Them half-articulated SW figs really irritate the hell out of me.

What??? I actually have to do some customizing of my customs???? Just kidding. That does help me a lot more than just telling me what to do in email.

Thanks for the help, he looks great.

Amen Brother,
What could have been an awesome figure is just meh.
But with this idea for the figure, I may just have to buy a 25th.
