I very much dig the starting point of using the storage tub. very innovative, and possibly borrowed......stolen.

HAHA no way. Did you do something like this?

I am sure I am not the first to do this, but I had not seen it before (well any customs until about a month ago)

3.99 at Target for the tub and I liked the way the floor would look. I sprayed the underside of it so to keep the look of the container.

The scream dude floating in the tank is a bit creepy. Good dio though. The case with the helmet is my favorite part. Perfect for Serpentor smashing action.

yeah he looked like a decomposing corpse to me...but the Army of Darkness Baddies will be better.

Yeah my wife and looked and bought about 2 hand full of little crap from the dollar store to try and get a right sized plastic box for that.

Had I been smarter I would have ordered a V3 Serpentor and just used that helmet (didnt know it was green till recently...but then again it would not have had the snakes hood on it..so I am happy), instead of crafting that one (well the jaw on it).

Yeah some bookshelfs, a medical table, maybe some art, or hospital style posters, tubing running from tank to tank...and I may be happy with it...

any one seen a bookshelf with books in it for a dio...maybe some crappy playset? I could make one easy enough, but every time I think about making some thing there is an existing better product out there...

Thanks though you sealed a deal in my mind. I will be making some charge uranium tubes for this crate.

Book selves are pretty easy to make so are tables. Scrap flat plastic parts and poles. I have litte doubt you'll be able to work it out looking at what you have done so far.

Kind of funny I am collecting parts for a lab too, though not for the good old doctor. Its taken be two weeks to prep my victims and I haven't even started on the base.

What did you use for the walls and stuff? Is it some sort of crate/storage box? Maybe I missed it on an early post

just a standard plastic storage bin from target.

Couple of warnings though... (being new at this I totally use the wrong tools I know)

When I cut away the one side of the bin, with a jigsaw...the plastic shattered a bit and had to be sanded back down. Plus the whole box will lose about 25 percent stability one a side is lost...still plenty stable... and sh*t doesn't glue easily to the plastic bin, so you need to use other epoxys or specialized glues...like the fellas mentioned earlier in this thread (superglue was breaking off, superglue gel did end up getting it done..but it was a lesson learned)

Also I painted the underside because I liked the details of the crate (its clear/foggy). I originally picked this crate because I was planning on putting windows in the indentions in the corners...(and would be cheaper than 4 pieces of foam board) but after painting it...a sealed lab looks better than the castle style in the comic (or should say fits better with what I have done)

Right now every Walmart/ Target/ K-mart seem to be selling bins for super cheap (I guess to store up Christmas crap)

Maybe a bar along the top outer corners to stablize it. Also when glueing to it you might wanna think about punch holes in the stuff your hanging, putting pegs in the holes, making holes in the wall that line up with the pegs and glue in. That should stablize them further. I totally know what your talking about working with that style of plastic. You look cross eyed at it and the glue bound breaks. :verymad:

Oh dont get me wrong its very stable and be picked up and moved around...its just not as solid as it is in the store. no bar would be needed...unless you were going to stack maybe

I am a huge fan of Velcro so far too. It allows a novice like me to change my mind on things (not on big pieces of course)

I will maybe loose that later, but for now more than once I was glad I was able to easily make a swap of a tv monitor or other small piece

I have done a little wood working so I know what you mean about dowels too...good idea.
